Beware. This company ensnares you into their so called free Membership Scheme without getting your formal Agreement. It is a clever ruse. They have your credit card details so at the end of the 6 months free period you are charged £80 plus which you then have a fight on to get refunded. They make it exceptionally difficult to cancel the policy as the Membership team you call is in fact AI and seems to be deaf to the word "cancellation". after 4 emails and telephone call I am still trying to cancel the membership. read more

Rang GoAssist as was in desperate need of a repair. The one positive I'd say is each customer service person I spoke to in GoAssist and BigWarranties was kind and polite, but goodness me you end up getting sucked into different memberships, policies and payments to get one repair booked in. I didn't actually end up needing the repair so rang to cancel, but then also needed to seperately cancel a BigWarranties policy and a membership with GoAssist. Thankfully I'd written these down myself but via email correspondance (after sign up) none of these things were clear. Both businesses say you have to email to cancel but then when you email you either get ignored or told to call. When you call you get through to an automatic person and if you say you want to cancel your policy/membership you go through some automated rigmarole before the call gets cut off. So you have to ring again and say you want something else to be put through to a person so then you can cancel it! I would be so worried if you were an older person or someone who's not tech savvy that you'd end up in multiple contracts all auto renewing without even realising. I feel frustrated for being sucked into it all and although I think now I've cancelled everything il be keeping a close eye on my bank account to ensure nothing more is taken out. DO NOT USE This company sent parts and engineers 4 times to an 85 year old lady for a broken ignition. On the last visit (8 months later), they broke the thermostat and the engineer admitted to his mistake and condemned the cooker. They tried to charge us for the damaged thermostat on top of the £320 we had already paid, but worse, they left a vulnerable heart failure patient with no means of cooking for 8 months. We refused to pay for the thermostat and they said they would call us back after speaking to the engineer but have constantly chasing and many broken promises, we had no alternative but to replace the cooker. So much stress has been caused to this lady as a result of their incompetence. Almost 12 months later and after many letter and phone calls, they offered £100 compensation! This does not even cover the cost of the part we paid for that they never fitted because it was another incorrect part! They should be ashamed... Worst service from a company I've ever experienced. Long story short - Took 2.5 weeks to order parts for a washing machine. said they'd fixed it and left leaving water in the drum along with the towel I'd provided to catch any water in the repair. That was my first clue it wasn't fixed. Turn it on and lo and behold it's not working. I asked for a different engineer as first one made clear he didn't want to come into a city and clearly could not be trusted to which the refused to give me a different person and said they had "followed their procedures" no compensation. THIEVES AND SCAMMERS We booked a plumbing service to unblock a sewege pipe. An engineer who showed up said that he is only there to make a report and he doesn't have any equipment. He also said that he wouldn't know how to fix the problem as he is merely a plumber. He informed me that once he makes a report they would send someone more qualified and with equipment. I contacted GoAssist on Monday and booked a refrigerator repair appointment for Wednesday. On Tuesday, I called to cancel the appointment, but I was advised to keep it. I was told that even if I cancelled before the repair, I would not receive any refund. However, I was assured that if the refrigerator was beyond repair, I would receive a £100 discount toward purchasing a new one from their website--this was because I had purchased both the repair service and insurance. The engineer inspected the unit this morning and confirmed that the refrigerator is beyond repair due to a faulty compressor. When I called GoAssist to ask about my options, I was told I was only eligible for a £40 discount instead. They claimed this was because the appliances on their website are already discounted below market price. This contradicts what I was told at the time of purchase just two days ago. Furthermore, I checked the price of the same refrigerator on their website and found that their so-called "discounted" price is not lower than market price, actually higher than what's available at Argos. The worst experience with Go Assist Gloucestershire! I am over a month into dealing with Go Assist after my microwave button broke. When I contacted the team, the microwave was fully functional, just needing a new button for aesthetic purposes. The engineer was meant to arrive on the 30 September and just did not pitch up and eventually arrived unexpectedly a week later. When he arrived, I showed him how the microwave worked and where the missing button was. I have a built in microwave which the engineer did not want to bother to removing it and unplugging it. Instead, he insisted on turning the mains power off which meant both my colleague and I would miss client meetings due to no power or wifi. While he was "working" on the microwave with it angled in a weird way off of the wall, the microwave stopped working all together. He then left me with a broken microwave and no timeline in terms of when it would be repaired. I called GoAssist immediately to report the additional damage as I did not want to pay for their damage. I heard nothing from the team for over a week. When I called back, they sent a new engineer (who was decent and did the job properly) for him to verify the damage the original engineer had already verified. It took another week to get the quote for new parts to me - at which point they included the charge for the parts of the microwave they damaged! I called in to query this and they assured me this was just the initial cost estimate and that they would call me as soon as they got the engineers report. The call never happened. I have called back countless times to get this resolved, but am getting nowhere. The engineer won't take responsibility for the damage he has caused, claiming it is wear and tear (even though it was fully functional when he arrived and magically stopped working after he fiddled with it). As it stands, I have paid GoAssist £100 to break my microwave fully in order to want to charge me an additional £200 to fix it. In terms of their promises: 1. No fix, no pay - convenient when they break it further to charge you more 2. Quality home service - incorrect, they didn't arrive on time, didn't call back when they promised and arrived a week late unexpectedly 3. Expert engineers - 50% true. One broke my microwave through negligence, the second one was decent. It's unfortunate on the order they arrived. Currently sitting on hold yet again with a team unable to resolve the issue. I shared this feedback on trustpilot and was asked for details of my order. Once shared, I then heard nothing back, so it is yet another way to just fob me off. read more

GoAssist misdiagnosed what was wrong with my dishwasher. When the engineer attended to carry out the wrong repair, they did not stay to test it and the dishwasher was still broken. This was reported to GoAssist who ignored me for two weeks then told me they were 'still looking into it'. So over the course of two months all GoAssist has done is waste my time and I'm out £200 for nothing. They've said we would need to pay for yet another repair and no refund on the previous payments was possible. Would not recommend at all - avoid this business. read more

Approached go assist for help with dishwasher. Arranged call out for £100 plus monthly warrantee cover. Waited 1 week for engineer. Identified need for part and was charged £160. Waited ,3 weeks then had to call. Amazingly parts and appointment arranged 1 day after my call. Engineer arrived to fit parts. Initially said they did not work and went to van to get another spare he had. Engineer then said needed another part and when arranged I was quoted £202. In total that is £462. Question. If engineer has spare in van,why did it take 3 weeks to order one? Question. Why was engineer surprised at cost of parts? Question why did it take so long to get parts? I've been back in touch with go assist. They won't refund initial parts, even though they've never been used. They will give £80 towards next dishwasher if I buy from them. That means I've paid them £260 so far with no working appliance and if I agree to £80 refund, that means I am £180 out of pocket and expected to buy new appliances through them. So we paid for Go assist's engineer to come out to look at our 3 year old dishwasher. This was £100 .We were then quoted a price by Go assist for the parts of £160.00 to get the dishwasher up and running . So we paid again and went ahead with this . We waited 4 weeks ! No phone calls , us doing the chasing to see where the parts were amd for progress reports . Eventually after calling AGAIN, we were told the parts had arrived . The engineer came out and fitted the parts only to inform us that an extra part was now needed to get the dishwasher working . We were quoted another £202.00 for the next part . We have spent the best part of a morning being fobbed off by a customer service advisor that we cannot have our money back for the parts . The best they can do is give us £80 back towards a new dishwasher- but that we basically have to write off £180.00 because there is no management that we can talk to and because the parts they did fit have fit the description of the fault we made - even tho the dishwasher is broke and we are not engineers!! We are so frustrated and cross that companies like this can be allowed to do this to people . We would never have ordered any parts if we had know they would have cost more than a new dishwasher . I contacted them after my refrigerator broke in July 2024. Paid £89 for an engineer to come out and inside of 2 minutes, tell me it's beyond repair and they won't even offering me a quote. Fine I told myself, you got me, I wasted my money, I won't even bother next time. I then promptly bought a new appliance and moved on. Until a week ago, when I was charged £69.99. I just noticed it today. Judging by google searches so far, it seems I've been auto-enrolled in their membership program. Mind you, I was not made aware of this program, nor did I agree to be enrolled a year ago, and I received no notification email 30 days before it auto-renewed (it states they will send this 30 days prior). Today is a Sunday and their lines are not open, but needless to say they will bet getting an earful tomorrow. Be very weary of this company, between them and their partner BIG Warranties, there were aggressive attempts at up-selling me at every possible turn. I was told that I needed to pay £140 upfront to cover the call-out charge, labour and 90 days warranty for the work done. Cost of parts was extra, depending on the part. The technician came took a picture of the faulty part and left. Few minutes later I received a quote for the new part almost £400. For this price I could buy a new fridge, so I called them to cancel. They said that they can cancel it but there is no refund. According to them £140 is for the call-out charge, even though in our previous phone call thay said that the labour and the warranty was included aswell. I asked to speak to someone in charge but was told that no one was available and that even if someone was available the answer would be the same. Thieving Bastards. Avoid anything to do with this Company and it's sister BIG WARRANTIES. From my research on these 2 companies I understand that they are part of a string of companies owned by the same people. Their business model is based on extracting as much money from you as possible and giving you nothing in return. They are middlemen who employ independent engineers, on whom, it seems they have very little control. I have so far paid them £449.60 for them to repair my dishwasher. This sum includes an insurance premium to protect my appliance from breakdown. An appliance which Go Assist failed to repair in the past 7 weeks, for which they received full payment (parts & labour) in advance. However, Big Warranties kept insisting that I keep on paying the premiums to protect the appliance which is broken down in the first place. When I accepted their quote seven weeks ago they informed me that parts may take as long as 6 weeks to arrive. When the 6 weeks were up I contacted them to ask for a full refund. They refused. They said that once parts are ordered they cannot be cancelled. Even if they cannot be delivered? Do yourself a favour. If your old appliance breaks down, go and buy a new one. It my cost a little more than repairing the old one, you will get a brand new appliance within days with a 2 or 3 year warranty. Above all you save yourself the hassle of dealing with cowboy repairers. If you have been stung by this Company and it's offshoots, go back to your credit/debit card provider and dispute the transactions and claim your money back. Most card providers give you a guarantee for you to shop in piece against defective goods/services. read more

Paid upfront for a service contract and paid for a freezer repair, engineer arrived and was here 2 minutes after saying he couldn't do anything as the freezer wasn't turned on. He was rude and unhelpful. We had not been told it had to be on and as the alarm was going all the time had obviously turned it off. My wife tried to cancel the contract only to be told it was ok and an engineer would be back to sort it out and she couldn't cancel as an engineer had been out. Another appointment was arranged for over a week later, My wife waited in all day only o be told at 4.30 that the engineer would not be coming and would come the next day between 8 and 1pm. He arrived at 1.00pm, My wide offered him a drink only to be asked for a can or bottle, He looked at the freezer which had been turned on well in advance, opening the door and putting his had on the compressor saying it felt too warm. He left saying the office would be in contact regarding parts and cost. It was clear he didn't really want to look any further. We then got an email saying that the engineer has declared it beyond economical repair. We called them up and they agreed to refund the repair costs as they wouldn't repair. I tried to cancel the ongoing repair contract, only to be told it would be £50 cancellation as we were now outside the 14 day cancellation period. "My hands are tied and you have got a cheaper repair as you were on contract" I argued that they hadn't repaired it so that was academic, but they still charged me £50 for absolutely nothing . read more

Go Assists customer service is the worst service I have EVER had to deal with. My emails are constantly ignored and I have had to chase and chase only for Go Assist to ask the same questions. AVOID and either repair yourself or go local. I paid £89 for the labour only option which included an additional mandatory annual insurance policy of almost the same amount again . This should have been the first red flag. In fairness the repair man did come on the agreed day and diagnosed the fault. This is where the problems started. 1. They tell me the parts are obsolete and I would therefore lose the £89. A quick search shows the parts are available directly from the manufacturer. 2. They still don't change their position, reaffirming they are closing the job card. 3. I call the repair company directly (we repair). I explained that the parts are available. They confirm this and say, it was a "mistake: 4. I have to call go assist again and ask them to reopen the job card and send it back to the repair company, which they did. 5. I eventually receive their quote for parts at a markup of 164%!! . 6. Calls and emails back and forth demanding answers to how and why they can justify their markups. (I can order the same parts directly from the manufacturer, delivered to my door). I am fobbed off that they will look into this and get back to me. 7 a few days go by and no response. I give them 24 hours to declare their position before raising a visa dispute. No response. This company is defrauding customers and should be exposed. 3 months and still waiting. Our range cooker had a faulty induction hob (three out of five rings not working). After three months, and three visits with very little in the way of communication we now have zero rings working on the hob and the glass is cracked right across. The engineers neglected to mention they'd damaged it as they hurriedly left. After finally speaking to someone today at Goassist (Jake) I was informed the engineers had deemed the (£3800) appliance beyond economic repair and I was offered a refund. So, our hob that just needed a replacement circuit board now seems beyond repair as a result of unqualified and careless engineers bungling their work. Since companies like this repeatedly fob off their customers, my only option is to use the only metric they understand. I will therefore post this complaint on every review site I can find until they resolve the issue. The only option left now would seem to be a new appliance. Paid for by Goassist. I reported a fault on my electric oven. I paid £129 and they sent an engineer out very quickly who reset the clock and advised me the cooker was fine. It still doesn't work. Go Assist refused to send another engineer unless I paid more as there is a gas hob (which is working). Total rip-off. I'm going to use a local recommended firm rather than keep throwing more money at Go Assist. I should have known better but was desperate to have my oven fixed before Christmas. I paid 170 for an emergency callout, for an engineer to come for less than 5 minutes and tell me he needs a "permanent ladder" to the loft, even though combination ladder was in place (there is a floor and light in the loft as well). You would think Go assist would give me my money back, because THEY didn't ask if there is a permanent ladder in place and because NOTHING was done or fixed. Nope, they absolutely refuse to pay me back, said the engineer charged them money and there's nothing they can do. Avoid at all cost. Terrible service.
