I went to buy a natural product that I found online. Surprisingly they had it in this store for a better price than on Amazon or GNC.com.
When I got in the store there was only a white redhead muscled guy who just ignored me while on his phone, which is fine because I'm the type or customer who doesn't like immediate or constant attention while shopping.
I was undecided because they had two versions of the same product and one of them had a couple ingredients that I could not identify so I went to the counter and stood in front of him with the 2 products in my hands. He kept ignoring me so I greeted him but he became noticeable angry when I asked him about the products. He acted arrogant saying both were the same.
I ignored that bad attitude because after all I just wanted the product and get out of there asap. I said I wanted to buy it and he gave me a price different than the one on the shelf which corresponded to a membership card I didn't have.
I asked him the process to get the card but he explained it to me in such bad tone and demeanor that even when in my mind I could figure out the long term benefits, I felt so undervalued and mistreated as a customer that when he asked me: "Are you gonna get the card?" I just replied in the exact same tone: "No, I'm not. I'll buy online, or somewhere else but not here". That day GNC lost me as a costumer and I do 't think I will ever come back.
I've been again to the mall and it seems the guy's not there anymore but to this day I have spent some hundreds on Amazon and Walmart buying comparable products. This is the cost of not having an appropriate process to recruit your salespeople GNC. How many more dollars of other potential customer did you lose while that guy was there? read more
