I loved Malady's, so much that their prices are a blur to me now because the meat was so, SO good…read more Their meat is high quality, local, grain fed, and never frozen (unless you find it in the freezer, but they froze it themselves). They cut the meat in the back room and the animals are local which is amazing compared to the meats Giant Eagle in Pittsburgh gets from North Dakota. The boneless chicken breasts run out fast so if you go there and it is not available this is not uncommon, but don't worry just ask when they will restocked and come back. The best thing ever was their Moroccan lamb sausage, which was a rarity. Every week I would go here and get 2-4 chicken breasts and a half or full pound of their ground beef. Sometimes I would pick up a pepperoni stick for pizzas or some beef jerky as a snack. EVERYTHING I ever bought at Malady's was top quality and delicious. I would give this place more stars if possible. The two women who worked there were always friendly and nice - same goes for the owner. They also have some of their meats frozen, chicken nuggets, steak fries, sauces, jams, cheeses and eggs among other things. Also, they have fresh and local whole turkey around Thanksgiving! Supposedly from the same farm the President (yes of the country) gets his bird from too! I truly miss this place. I only lived in Meadville for three years during college. If you are in the area, go! It changed my standard for meats, especially chicken.

I stopped for 2 strips and a filet on Tuesday while coming past on my way home to Pittsburgh from…read moreErie. We were so excited for dinner. But unfortunately, the strips were awful. They weren't as thick as they had been in the past. One of them had a huge piece of fat across the middle of the steak. The filet was tender. I also had asked the lady working there since we weren't going to eat them until the next night if she should add the seasoning now or could I get some to go to put on myself on Wednesday morning to be ready for dinner that night, she said I can give it to you to put on yourself but I will have to weigh it and charge you for it. I agreed to that. But when I added it to the 3 steaks, there was not enough. We couldn't taste the great flavor from the seasoning as we always had in the past. There was always extra fluid in the bag but this time there was none. I found the quality of the 2 strips to be much worse than their steaks I always had bought in the past. I'm not sure if I would go there again. It's sad because I always felt their steaks were superb!
