The things I've ordered most are almonds, walnuts, pecans, dried apricots, mango, prunes, brazil nuts, cashews. Pretty much any whole food they sell is excellent. Whatever nuts you can buy in high end supermarkets like Whole Foods are awful compared to this, and often rancid (you don't realize until you've had actual good quality). Even when I buy almonds at farmers markets or the most high end boutique organic shop in LA, I always find occasional bitter almonds. I have honestly never had a bitter almond from here, which is kind of amazing because I've gone through huge amounts of them over the years. Especially if you know how to soak/sprout nuts and seeds (Nourishing Traditions style), these are the best tasting nuts and seeds you can eat. What made me think of these guys at the moment is I found a small oil press I want to buy so I can press my own nut and seed oils at home. The stuff supermarkets (and even most gourmet shops) sell is awful and too refined to be nutritious. For the quantity of nuts and seeds I will need, this would be my supplier.

But the biggest problem were the pro shoppers pushing multiple carts, crowding the aisles and making it really difficult to pick up my items. It has become untenable to go here other than for something unavailable elsewhere. Today I ventured a little out of my way to shop at Jimbo's. Immediately upon entering the store I was struck by how bright, clean and inviting the store was and how engaging the employees were towards me. I got to the hot foods counter 5-10 minutes before they put out the rotisserie chickens. I could see one employee pulling the cooked birds from the oven and packaging them for sale. I was struck with how clean and neat everything was and the great care the employee in removing the chickens and preparing to be put in the hot case. As I was waiting I must of had 5 or 6 employees go out of their way to greet me and offer to assist me. I enjoyed looking at the cold case and the offerings. The real egg salad definitely caught my eye. I will definitely get on my next trip to Jimbo's. I also love that they sell cooked and hot breasts, thighs, legs and leg quarter in small quantities. It gives the shopper to just buy one package or multiple packages depending on much you need. The produce and fruit were amazing, well displayed and drew me in as did the bakery department. I enjoyed being able to go up and down the aisles that were well stocked and organized. I went to Jimbo's for a rotisserie chicken and left with several of goodness. My cashier Lisa was amazing. She was very friendly, engaging and very careful in handling my items while ringing my items. I also appreciated how carefully she bagged my items. I wish I could remember all the employee's names who checked on me, said hello, offered assistance and took care of me in a timely. I was short on time so I didn't get the chance to check out the deli area but what I did see from a distance looked amazing. Sure their prices are slightly higher than some bigger chain grocery retailers but the quality, freshness and ready made products put Jimbo's in a class of their own.
