I usually look to online (www.bodybuilding.com) to look for supplements. However, the problem with online shopping is shipping costs.
I decided to check out GNC and give them a shot since I wanted to buy some protein without waiting for shipping.
Although they stock up on their own products, they are beginning to carry some of the big named brands such as ON, Dymatize, and Cellucor. Their prices are actually a little reasonable if you're only looking to buy one but if you intend to buy multiple things, it becomes more beneficial to buy from online as shipping costs no longer becomes an issue.
The sales rep was a little over aggressive and wasn't afraid to slam other products besides GNC (big surprise). Although his logic was a little sound in regards to why GNC's products were better, his suggestion and advice especially on taste was far from accurate.
I purchased GNC's isolate whey protein which was promised to taste better than the number one rated ON whey protein. Upon opening the package, GNC's isolate whey smelled sour and not of chocolate. It was promised to not give any stomach cramps. I took a serving this morning. To my dismay, I did have some discomfort. Mixing with plain water did not come out as tasty as the sales rep had indicated. I understand that every body is different but the sales rep needs to stop hard selling a product by guranteeing whether or not I can take suppliments. I will continue to see how this suppliment works out but I am ready to throw this tub away and try another one.
Buyer beware, ask the price of products without a membership card as they will sell you their extra membership at the till to ensure you save money. read more
