Glouton is a delicious option for high end French-Brazilian food.
It was my first visit and I was really impressed with the creativity and skills
of the chef.
The service was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was relaxed.
They deserve 10 extra stars for not charging for water like every single
restaurant in Brazil.
We started with the octopus pintxos. They were generous octopus pieces, on top of
little potatoes, drizzled with olive oil and paprika. The octopus was tender inside with a nice crust on the outside.
Perfect texture and flavor. I would order that again.
Then I had the papada de porco com mil folhas de mandioca. (Pork jowl with yucca millefeuille) Again, pleasantly surprised. It was was a cylinder shaped portion of super tender pulled pork and a rectangle of finely sliced yucca in layers. Both very flavorful.
I tasted my friend's shrimp with curry and squash ravioli. The shrimp were huge and were perfectly cooked. The sauce had a hint of curry but not too strong, more like a vadouvan. I will dream about this dish for a long time.
Dessert was brioche pain perdu with raspberry sorbet. The brioche had a moist center with a caramelized crust.
The sorbet was made in house and went really well with the brioche.
All the portions were generous and beautifully presented. A feast for the eyes and palate.
They have an open kitchen ant it was fun to see the action and the dishes coming out.
Totally recommend this place.
