First and foremost, I am eternally grateful that Kiara opened up Montebello's first Pilates studio. I attended her class on day 1 and have completed 4 classes so far. Kiara is patient, kind, and a thorough instructor. The Gloot studio has a wonderful ambiance that is calming and intimate. I have enjoyed going to each class and have felt it each time how much of a full body workout I am getting. I love that Kiara has created a space and community through wellness and health.

First of all, I am BEYOND ecstatic that Kiara opened up this studio in our little town of Montebello. We needed something like this DESPERATELY and we finally have it! When I passed by and saw it i thought OMG I've been wanting to try Pilates since FOREVER! So I quickly looked it up and booked my appointment. I havent worked out in a studio or group setting in over 2 years when I would kick box and so I was a bit nervous. I had NEVER tried reformer pilates, just mat pilates and I was unsure. As soon as you get in you notice the studio is small but intimate. Kiara greeted me right away and asked me if I had ever done pilates before and I told her no. She made sure during class to watch to make sure i was doing it correctly and would help me if needed. The first 25 min of class is A BEAST. I was shaking using muscles I havent used in over 2 years. The last 25 min is my fav because you're doing more stretching after the intense burn and it feels so good! I decided to buy some classes and I'm so excited to be on this pilates journey!!!!!!

Ever since the announcement of this studio opening I quickly purchased a membership. I don't regret it! Kiara is a wonderful instructor who is patient with you and gently guides you to the right form. I hear there are some other fabulous instructors that teach here too! I really enjoy my time here at the studio and can't forget to mention the infrared sauna. Totally worth it after a Pilates workout.

Their classes are suitable for all levels. They pay attention to everyone's form, will provide corrections and assistance throughout the class, which helps prevent injuries. The exercises are well instructed and paced, so you never feel rushed, and they offer modification for those who need them. Emma and Sally can speak Mandarin and English which is very helpful for non-English speakers and vice versa. I enjoy every session and always feel great after class. Side note- there is ample parking available and the studio provides mat if you do not have one.

I also tried their Mat Pilates class, but prefer the Aerial Hoop class. Both classes I attended had 4 students which made it great for beginners and those interested in learning Aerial Hoop or Mat Pilates. Mat Pilates with Emma was a calm, casual paced class without music that improves concentration in certain muscles of our body. Some stretches and movements are more challenging than you'd think. Aerial Hoop with Stephanie was challenging and really tested my strength and flexibility. The class had 3 hoops, some were higher and some had a thicker bar. The class started off with stretches before we learned aerial moves on the hoop. The other students already had experience, so they practiced more advanced moves. At the end of the class, everyone performed the entire routine we learned along with music. Each student brought out their tripod to film their movements. Another student helped record mine. By the end of the class, I didn't realize I got a blister on my hand until I got home. Time to do more bar exercises after it heals! Some random things to note: The parking lot is convenient and doesn't seem to get busy. Shoes are taken off and stored in the cabinet to the right of the entrance. It's recommended to bring grip socks for all classes. Yoga mats are available, but feel free to bring your own. Both instructors were kind, encouraging, and corrected our form. I enjoyed the smaller classes and would highly recommend, especially for beginners!

Story time - I've taken a class once elsewhere, it was my first class in a long time and that instructor basically just left me out in the cold as she tended to her more experienced students, chatting and cackling away with them as she gave me random conditioning exercises to do. I felt very alone (and also out of shape) that I was too scared to ever go back to another pole class. Two years later I decide to take a class with Ruby and that was completely night and day. Everyone in the class was so sweet and encouraging and even though I was new and inexperienced, Ruby gently reminded me that everyone always start somewhere and that we should always be proud of our progress, big or small. So if you ever want to try pole, Ruby is an excellent instructor to get you started. She's so talented and really cares about her students and their success and I feel very lucky to get to learn from her.

While I unfortunately don't think I can come back here any time soon (each class they have is 15+ credits), I enjoyed my class with Hanna so much that I wanted to write her a good review. When I walked in, someone at the front desk checked me in right away and she had a warm personality! Very inviting. She shared with me that we leave our shoes by the door, then we walk down the hallway to our class. I noticed that the floor was a little dusty as we walked past the other rooms for aerial yoga and for private classes. The Pilates class room itself is clean and designed well. There was plenty of space between one reformer and the next. Hanna explained all the instructions clearly and she had good pacing. She made sure that our form was correct throughout. It was nice that there were only three of us during my class so it felt like we were getting more attention. I also appreciated how encouraging she was and the music selection on the background made the entire time pass by like a breeze. My feedback would be about the reformer machines themselves. The reformer machines felt a little cheap just because the ropes would make this sound while we would be pushing to get resistance that I haven't heard from other Pilates studio machines. I saw some fraying on my ropes specifically. The platform also felt more narrow than the average. I was still able to do the exercises but as a 5'3 girly, I felt like I had the longest legs in the world. Overall, I'm glad that there is another Pilates studio near me that has dedicated parking and talented instructors. I hope they consider checking the machines every now and then for wear and tear but other than that, I had a wonderful time!

People's Yoga in Monterey Park (near ELAC) exceeds my wildest dreams. This single studio with wooden-floors and plants is homey and yet located on the second floor of a plaza and across from the metro station (Atlantic stop). It's truly a delight - not to mention the one and only Latina-owned yoga studio is the area (if not LA?). My favorite class is "Body Soft" on Thursday nights at 7pm with Diane. This class is for those that want to ease into yoga (a.k.a. Beginners) or those who need to chill from a long work week. But...please don't meditate into sleep. Yes, rarely does snorting ensue. On-site parking is available and the studio provides all the equipment and even water, just bring your own water bottle. Pre-registration is recommended as the studio only accommodates so many people. If the single class price is steep for your budget, check out their packages as they offer a built-in discount. Also, first timers can try out a monthly on a discount. For the yogis or yogis in training, you may be interested in their training program. Personally, I'm not a fan of virtual movement classes because I prefer to be in-person, but for those on a shoe string budget that may an option. Either way, I LOVE People's Yoga! Shout out to Leah and Lauren, co-founders, Latina mama business owners, and yoga instructors. As a man who thought he was strong enough and needed something pretty advanced I quickly realized I was a beginner lol. Truth is yoga is something that is true core strength combined with mobility. So I felt the challenge! But, the beginner classes are great for people who need a more approachable starting point. I also very much enjoy the meditative and holistic approach to classes. Every class I have attended had some challenge and made you sweat a bit, but also had a calming meditative portion that leaves you feeling centered and in touch with your inner spirit. Overall, I highly recommend this yoga studio. They are a true gem in our community.

The classes are challenging, the music is lively, and the pace is quick! I have never been so thoroughly sore in so many different muscle groups post Pilates. Special shoutout to the instructor Amanda. She has great energy, is on it the whole time, and has great music. I love how holistic the class is- really gets every single part of the body. She's also hands on with adjustments which I love because sometimes I space out in class and need more one on one re-direction. It's important to know that your instructor knows how the human body should work and what to avoid. My wife had already been…read moregoing for a while and encouraged me to try it, and it ended up becoming the best weekend workout I could've added to my routine. I'd been recovering from a herniated disc from years earlier, which left me with limited flexibility and reduced strength in my right hip. Lesley built sessions that targeted my core and the supporting muscle groups I'd been compensating for. After about a year of consistent weekend sessions, the improvement in strength, mobility, and stability was obvious. Lesley is intuitive, knowledgeable, and patient. She helped reduce pain, improve my posture, and rebuild core strength in a way that actually stuck. That foundation has made a real difference. Her background in physical therapy shows in everything she does. She understands muscles, joints, and personal limits, and she pays attention. She builds sessions around what each person needs, not a one‑size‑fits‑all routine. The studio itself elevates the experience. The variety of equipment--the Pilates reformer, Cadillac Reformer, barrel, and more--makes it easier to target specific muscle groups and perform different postures correctly. It keeps each session fresh, challenging, and genuinely next level. The progress really showed during travel. Long days of walking or climbing stairs used to be tough. Now I move better, hold better posture, and can enjoy places--like the uneven streets of Pompeii--without the same strain. I still have work to do, but Pilates of Pasadena has made that progress possible. I highly recommend Lesley and Pilates of Pasadena.
