The office was responsive during business hours but not after. We tried for hours to reach the office on a Friday afternoon but couldn't get through due to phone system issues. When we finally did connect, Dr. Cohen questioned why my son hadn't come in earlier and said he could see him Monday, even though we explained he needed urgent help that weekend and asked for a hospital recommendation. He suggested a local oral surgeon's office near my son's school, but that office was closed. We ultimately had to rely on urgent care and hospital staff for the care he needed. My son ended up in the hospital for 5 days due to these complications. When I spoke to Dr. Cohen during that time, he said we should have gone to a hospital where he had privileges, which had never been communicated to us. He also mentioned that his phone system had been having issues and that he had been busy moving over the weekend. At no point did anyone from his office check on my son, even after knowing he was hospitalized. While I understand that complications can happen after surgery, what concerned us most was the lack of responsiveness, professionalism, and compassion from this office. Because of this experience, I cannot recommend this practice.

I had put the procedure off for years as other oral surgeons said it was unlikely a graft would be successful. Dr. Cohen was able to successfully perform the graft. Moreover, he and his entire office staff were incredible - from making me feel welcome, to accommodating my schedule, to post operative followup, I felt truly cared for throughout the entire process. Thank you Dr. Cohen & team!!

They did a bridge for her that cost thousands of dollars and fell out after a couple of years. The bridge had a lifetime warranty which they didn't honor. She is finally seeing a REAL dentist who confirmed all of our suspicions. It's all dollars here. They don't care. Stay away.

We had the same experience as all of the other comments. The dentist BROKE a tooth! At the time Mama remembered hearing the word "Oops!" They charged Mama DOUBLE the original est. of cost! Took her YEARS to pay it off on her Sr. fixed income. I came in with a Letter cc'd to my/Mama's lawyer requesting HALF of the fee be refunded. The office manager at the time, Julie.... pushed the letter back at me, "you have no purpose here (I have POA for my now 94yr mama) you may leave" NOW I'm gonna go back! w/ a full blown POA I don't care how many years it's been... hope I have the heart and time to pursue this... JUST wanted them reimbursed for partial fee. That's what I calmly explained. NOW there are additional health problems because of that BADLY BOTCHED implant surgery....and mama's new dentist needs to know (what on earth) that dentist did, so he can help my Mama... ugh prayers for all those badly affected by this office. I had lost 3 teeth that had been previously crowned in the last month. But part of each tooth still remains in my mouth. I haven't been feeling well at all since I lost the teeth, I knew that I probably had an infection. I saw Dr Shah and he is wonderful! I had filled out my new patient paperwork before my appointment. Dr Shah actually took the time to really review everything I had documented. Instead of doing all the paperwork and then the Dr walks into the room and asks you, "what are you here for?". You know they haven't even looked at all the information you have carefully taken the time to provide them. I WANT A DR TO BE FAMILIAR WITH MY SITUATION before walking into the room to see me. I don't want to spend my appointment time re-explaining everything I've already provided. Dr Shah did exactly that. Because he had reviewed my paperwork, he knew what scans and X-rays were needed to be done before he saw me. Everything is there in his office. The staff is amazing, very kind and empathetic to your condition. When Dr Shah walked into the room, he was fully informed and I didn't have to repeat my previous horror story of dental procedures. He reaffirmed that indeed I had a massive infection in my mouth and it was making me very ill. I needed to have ALL the remaining teeth on the bottom extracted. However, I needed to get rid of the infection first. Unfortunately my insurance won't let Dr Shah do the extraction. They want me to go to a totally different oral surgeon. Did I mention how much I hate medical insurance??? I hate that they have the power to dictate who and what care we receive. Once I the infection is gone and my teeth extracted, I will return to Dr Shah's office for the denture making and maintenance. Dr Shah will be my forever dentist as long as my insurance will cover him.

I'm sharing this review as a mother who invested thousands of dollars trying to ensure her daughter…read morereceived quality cosmetic dental care--only to be deeply disappointed by the outcome and then contacted by an attorney after voicing our experience. I'm writing this with caution and sincerity, as I believe consumers have the right to honest feedback and transparency, especially when it involves health care. My personal experience with Dr. Kakos and her team was frustrating and disheartening. After my daughter received dental implants, we trusted this office to handle the cosmetic restoration. What followed were multiple appointments filled with color mismatches, design issues, and blame placed on everything except the care provided--from my daughter's gum and tooth structure to previous orthodontic work, and even the implant surgeon's technique. None of these explanations changed the fact that the results simply did not look right. Despite staff repeatedly saying the teeth looked "beautiful," my daughter was left with gray-toned, short crowns that appeared unnatural. The only solutions offered were invasive and unnecessary, in my opinion, such as gum surgery or shaving down healthy teeth to compensate. This left us feeling stuck, pressured, and ultimately misled. Thankfully, we found another provider, Dr. Danyal at Berkley Dental, who corrected the work in under two hours. The difference was immediate and validating. It's important to note that after initially posting my experience, I was contacted by legal counsel representing Dr. Kakos. I was disheartened--but not surprised--that a professional response came in the form of legal threats rather than genuine concern for patient satisfaction. I believe in patients' rights to speak about their care without being silenced or intimidated. So here I am again, stating clearly and respectfully: based on my experience, I would not recommend this practice for advanced or cosmetic procedures. If you're considering more than a routine cleaning, I strongly suggest seeking a second opinion. This review reflects my own experience and opinion and is protected under federal and state consumer rights laws, including the First Amendment and the Consumer Review Fairness Act. I share it not with malice, but with a hope to inform and protect others.
