I like 959! They have their own pension plan, but for some reason their employers contribute to the…read moreWestern Conference plan too, but at a very low rate. (I work for the Western Conference plan.) That means the benefits usually cash out, but occasionally they give rise to lovely complicated situations (e.g., small monthly pension followed after the pensioner's death by a lump sum cashout of his spouse's pension, followed by discovery that the company he worked for changed hands enough times that he gets some extra pension credit, causing the whole thing to have to be recalculated after the fact) that the pension computer doesn't know how to deal with, and then it starts throwing out completely idiotic results that fill one with glee. Besides, they never adopted the Seven Cent Nickel, and occasionally one of the pension processors forgets that, and then you get to Give Them an Error, which is always fun. And then, if the person only worked out of Local 959 before 1975 and then stopped being covered by the Western Conference plan at all, they are subject to Transition D, and what could be better than that? Three cheers for 959!

I always get the feeling the local office actually cares about my business and my protection. State Farm actually cut my premium by 75 a month on my car due to Covid creating fewer losses for them. I've been with State Farm for years, and never had any issues, but a whole slew of problems started when I switched to Malia Hayward after a move. I won't bore you with the details, but the short version is my rate went up significantly (with no changes to anything that would affect my insurance rates.) I have been trying to straighten it out for almost a year now. I have been given a dozen different conflicting reasons from the Malia Hayward staff. Rate increases happen sometimes, but it should be transparent. This office is incompetent and dishonest. Do yourself a favor and choose one of the other Juneau State Farm offices. I don't normally write reviews but I want to spare others the headache.

I got distrustful, and told this woman to write down all the questions she wanted to ask me directly and call me back when she was ready. NEVER HAPPENED. **i moved back to MA at the beginning of August totally confident that I had auto insurance, got on ferry from Juneau to prince Rupert, Canada; drove across Canada into the Montana US border, and across the country all the way to MA. Meanwhile, payment is being charged to my CC, but policy is not valid. September comes around, time to renew my registration online, when I come to find out that I can't do it online because I don't have insurance. Earlier the same day I had called State Farm update my mailing address, and learned that I didn't have a policy anymore. Point is, they can have an unprofessional negligent agent call me to ask me I don't even know what, but they can't call to tell me that my policy had been cancelled. Not only that, but the state of MA has expensive penalty fees for uninsured vehicles, policies go up if you don't renew prior to expiration, even for one day. In other words this State Farm's office NEGLIGENCE costed me around $700. And I find that cheap considering I could have been in an accident driving across the country or leaving my driveway, can you imagine that legal and financial disaster? Hands down NEGLIGENT
