This review is long overdue... I have been at Frontiers for 10 years now, and my 3 kids have been…read morein the lowest preschool levels and have graduated from middle school too. I started my kids in preschool with a hope that they could learn languages and I can truly say that it works. Academics are strong, especially with a new IB curriculum, teacher turnover is low, and class sizes are small. The private school advantage means that the teachers know not only the a child's academic levels but also their individual personality and how to tailor learning to their needs. All my kids' math are 1-2 levels ahead, they have excellent mastery of the 3 languages, and my oldest passed AP Chinese and AP Spanish before graduating 8th grade. Beyond academics, the community of staff, students, and parents have been incredible. They have become my village and support network, even travel companions, sounding boards, and backup child care too. The small class sizes mean that the students become close like family, and learn to grow and support each other over the years. We came for the language and academics, not realizing we were also gaining deep friendships and connections. If you're willing to commit to the journey, my family is proof that kids can truly be trilingual in an academically rigorous/IB curriculum, while being raised in a school environment that is thoughtful, kind, and respectful.

Our 5th grade son started at FA when he was 3 years old and our 1st grade daughter started when she was 2 years old. They are fluent in Chinese and Spanish, we don't speak either of those languages. They are both doing fantastic academically, but more importantly, they are learning how to be good citizens of their communities. The school emphasizes values our family shares such as kindness, hard work, respect, integrity, and courage. Frontiers uses positive reinforcement to strongly encourage kids to embody these values in their everyday interactions. Another bonus, the amazing FA parent community! We are fortunate to be part of such a fun and supportive group.

My son has been at Gaowa since he was 2.5 years old, and choosing to have him stay for kindergarten…read morewas one of the best decisions we've ever made. During his last year at Gaowa, he truly blossomed and grew academically more than ever before. He graduated knowing how to add, subtract, and even multiply! Beyond academics, I am incredibly proud of his social and emotional growth. His teachers and friends often compliment him on how well he communicates, expresses himself, and solves problems. I will forever be grateful to all the amazing teachers who played a part in his growth and success. Gaowa is filled with wonderful teachers who genuinely care for and love their students. I also want to recognize the amazing administration team. They truly care about the children and families, and it shows in the way they support their teachers, communicate with parents, and make everyone feel welcomed and valued. Having such a caring and supportive administration makes a huge difference. Thank you, Gaowa, for giving my son such a strong foundation, a love for learning, and so many beautiful memories. I couldn't have asked for a better place for him to spend his early childhood years. We will forever be grateful for everyone who helped shape him into the confident, kind, and bright little boy he is today!

I am writing this review as a student of CLE…read more I would like to shine a light on CLE's small, close-knit and intimate community of both peers and mentors. This is by far the best feature of CLE. Every educational institute is different and depending on your needs, CLE could be the perfect fit for you, or it might not be. But if your problem lies in the realm of being anxious or being painfully shy--- or having a lack of friends and a support system--- then CLE could very well be the proper treatment for you. Let me explain: The Center, or the main office of CLE, is where all of our sessions are held. There is always a handful of staff and students at the center that I talk to when I'm there. I like to randomly pop into my advisers office to chat. He has my cards and drawings pinned up on his wall. I like to pop into one of my tutors room and ask him advice about my career and my friendships. I also like to hang out with my friends in the common room and make slap stick humor jokes but also more witty ones. Then there are the socials. You are allowed as many socials on your schedule as you want. I estimate there are about 12 hours of scheduled socials per week currently that each of us can pop into when we have time. They include the following: Disney social, Film group social, Friday Morning Social, which last for 3 hours and we go out to some place like the beach or the mall, Friday dinner social, community chill and lunch social, voice and piano social, Men's group social, and women's group social. At the apartments, most of us live with a roommate. We all live in the same apartment complex. This has allowed me and my closest friends to hang out at each other's places three times a week in addition to the socials. My roommate buys DVD's off of amazon for us to watch and cooks curry and pie every now and then to share with us. There are also a lot of food places in walking distance that I like to go to with my friends. The apparatus I just described is the method by which CLE provided their treatment to my anxiety, shyness and lack of a support system. I was painfully shy before I came to CLE and now I have many friends. That is a big change. As you can see, this is due to the community being, for lack of better phrase "intimately programmed into your daily life". Personally, I liken this aspect of CLE to a "junior version of university life"
