She always swatches the gel polishes for me, always asks if I like my nail shape, and makes sure I'm happy with the results. My gel polish lasted a whole month without any lifting or peeling! With that being said, I do have some cons about this place. Since its mainly a hair salon, the nail area is really small. Which means the color selection is very limited. Also, she doesn't soak your feet for pedicures. I'm okay with not having a spa pedi chair, but I like soaking my feet in water at least. Lastly, unlike going to a regular nail salon where you can have 2 nail technicians work on you...Gloria is the only technician. So since she's doing both mani and pedi, you'll be expected to be at the salon for 90 mins.

The girl was quick and thorough, she did a great job, didn't subject me to any awkward conversation or weird questions (you'd be surprised) and my paint job is nice, even and professional (with OPI nail polish) and a week later, holding up quite nicely. $30 for the pedi, I think she said with a mani it would be like...$45 or something. I don't know. Something I wasn't willing to pay. Haha. I'm still spoilt terribly by American prices. I miss my regular mani's and pedi's that I got when I lived over there, but not THAT much. Actually, $40 isn't that bad when you consider that I'm not expected to tip 20% here. I WILL come back here in a few weeks for another! NOTE: I went back and a mani/pedi is $50! They are fast, the waxing is painless, and they always do a good job. I usually remind them beforehand to shape my eyebrows naturally as I don't want them to go too thin, but they've never made a mistake. I used to go here for manicures/pedicures, but I stopped after the last two manicures I received. The pedicures are great (though, I have to say the little pedicure bins don't seem very sanitary. I've watched a man with really dirty feet get in, and then all they did was spray water into the basin afterwards before the next customer got in- yeck!), and I'd still go in for them, but my last two manicures were a disaster. The same lady did them both times and both times she ended up sanding my ACTUAL NAIL with the electric file- you know, the ones they use on acrylic (fake) nails! The first time she did it, it wasn't a big deal, but the second time, she left little ridges on my nails where the file cut in and they stayed there for months until the nail regrew :( I wish I'd taken pictures or complained, but I didn't. Instead, I just refuse to get my nails done there. I'd recommend Desire for the waxing and pedicures, but be careful with the manicures. I don't think they do the best job as fair as manicures go.

When i asked if she could do my nails shorter on one hand, she started shouting at me for not letting her know sooner. It was quite embarassing and just horrendous customer service. She then proceeded to speak in a foreign language and laugh with her colleagues. I just wanted her to finish and get out of there. For $40, it was the one of the worst nail experiences Ive had.
