My interview involved the necessary excessive paperwork before I could speak to my recruitment consultant, who turned out to be quite nice. Unfortunately, she was not the recruitment agent I wanted to be assigned to (Government); she specialized in the Finance sector. Since this does not clash entirely with my work history, I was open to hearing about roles. She walked me through what I wanted in my role and confirmed that there were no appropriate roles at present, but she would keep me posted. I asked and was seen to by another recruitment agent specializing in Government positions. She gave me her card and I left. I didn't hear from either recruitment agent for a few months, then emailed them to state that I was still looking for work, if they were interested. Later that day (moving into night-time) the Government recruitment agent called me about a position starting the next day (late morning). I said it sounded good; she said she would need to speak to the company in the morning about whether I would be allowed to slip into the following day's training, and would call me first thing in the morning. To me this sounded doubtful and last-minute, and when I received a call from her the next day - around midday - she was extremely angry with me. She said she'd called at around 7am, but I had no missed call from that time. I felt that she was furious, and displayed anger above and beyond the usually accepted business-client relationship. She also insinuated that she would tell the other recruitment agents that I was still "looking for roles", but said it in a sarcastic tone meant to insinuate she sure wouldn't be. Not exactly the biggest self-esteem booster. The review escapes a one-star rating because of relativity: I've actually visited worse recruitment agents than this one.

Over the last couple of months I have called her 5 times, every time she told me that she would call back. She didn't - not once. Many emails have not been responded to either. Highly unprofessional recruitment agency with absolutely no empathy for or interest in helping candidates.
