Booking an appointment was quick and easy and I was able to get in within two weeks. They respond faster via their text messaging portal. I also had an issue with a prescription and they were prompt with sending a new one to my pharmacy and with rescheduling. This location was large with plenty of parking. The entrance is on the other side of the building on the first floor. The waiting room was spacious; checking in was easy and I was called in about 10 minutes. Then the clock kept ticking and ticking. My appointment was at 5:30 I didn't meet with the doctor until 6:10. The meeting was for only 5 minutes since my issue was already resolved. She apologized and said that they were running late due to a procedure. 3 stars for the wait but 4 stars for the service, toggling between 3.5 and 4 stars. Overall, I like them as a dermatology practice and Dr. Waqar was friendly and knowledgeable.

Let me tell you upfront that for standard appointments, you're still going to have to wait months for doctors here. (Seems to be a dearth of dermatologists in the Hartford area, eh?) That being said, I find this practice very quick and efficient. I've seen Dr. Lu for two skin check appointments. She's easy to talk to and doesn't make me feel rushed. During the exam, she also talked about what she was doing and looking for, which made it an educational and more relaxed experience. Easy parking and navigation within the building.

Then somehow I was scheduled with the ONE doctor in the practice who couldn't bill under my insurance plan. Convenient, right? Now I'm stuck dealing with a bill I never should have received in the first place. I spent MONTHS trying to get answers from the office and the billing department, leaving messages and getting nowhere. No callbacks, no accountability, no help whatsoever. The entire experience feels dishonest and incredibly unprofessional. Patients should not have to jump through hoops because of their office's incompetence or lack of transparency. Be very careful before going here -- this place operates like a scam.
