So much for supporting small businesses I won't ever buy from anyone on that street again if this is how things are handled. I got it out to wrap it for my mom before I go back to Texas was going to walk it next-door as a Christmas present and it's clearly marked demo the lady pulled it from wherever her stock was there is no way it's got scratches all over there's no way I can give it as a Christmas present. It's one thing to make a mistake it's another thing especially before Christmas to tell somebody that it's their responsibility to drive over 65 70 miles to rectify a mistake they made and then refused to even give my message to a manager or an owner. Just wow. We have been down there so many times and my grandmother was actually from that city and I never expected that kind of treatment from somebody in a hometown. I will never support small businesses again. It's one thing if somebody makes a mistake it's another thing to be treated that way and their refusal to make it right. My nephew brought bought $150 train from there I told him to check in and make sure it works. This is why I don't buy from small businesses. Because they can get by with treating you like crap. The rudeness on the phone and the ladies continually talking over me and not even letting me get two words out because she was too busy defending herself in her store. I'm just blown away. I came down there with my family that I haven't seen in seven years it has put such a bitter taste in my mouth. I'm a 60 year old woman on disability and was so excited about the eight dollars I spent on my mother and how much she was going to enjoy that item. Now all I can do is cry. My 90 year old father passed away in August I bought this for my mother thinking it would comfort her because it had church hymns and songs on it that he liked I was not able to come to the funeral I thought it would be something special. Now this is the outcome.

You could spend a 1+ hours exploring the glass cases and decorated rooms. Each inch is packed with merchandise. My favorite area was the book room! Hundreds of titles to explore in the back corner. Since you'll be there awhile, might as well grab an ice cream cone too. Help is available at the front desk - with the spaces being the responsibility of the sellers, there's not a reason for them to be embedded in the selling spaces. The primary reason for 4 stars is the pricing. It's on the higher end and after a while I lost the excitement of browsing because I wasn't going to say yes to that level of splurge. I also spotted a few things I had at home - in no way are these items antique or ever worth that amount of money. It made me question the value of other items and the pricing. This spot is worth adding to your agenda if you're in Glendale.

"Vintage" search populated just south of nothing, well - there was an address and a name but it looked weird, I believe there was a dash and a random letter sitting curiously upon the end, so I went to check it out. Yes, you guessed it - it was a booth in the mall. Bummer? Heck no! What an opportunity to walk and explore the mall world with a few exceptions to my early mall memory. For one thing, it was on one floor - Queens Center Mall, NYC 1986, the gold standard to me. There were no people either - not in the booths, not walking around - nobody as in nobody, minus the two girls at the very front of the store. Actually I became aware that malls can be all on one floor once I was out of the New York area. Visions of Day of The Dead began, the second George Romero zombie movie after Dawn of The Dead, back then zombies were smarter than they are now, just like some people I know now. Ya ever feel dumber walking away from a conversation with someone you knew years ago and hadn't seen in a while and - well, it's just hard for me to ingest that. Anyway, those zombies entered a mall, what a great horror movie - actually, all the movies in that series were excellent - any horror fans out there? So I bought a few shirts, nice quality cotton tees with a picture of an angry bear on one and a skull on the other and slashed the sleeves off the moment I got to the urban assault vehicle. I've been steadily working out, I'm driving a bit slow with NYC plates in foreign territory, I'm gonna show the cannons - which they're not, but have size when I squeeze the steering wheel in just such a way. There was a pair of boots that I really liked but I had questions about them and nobody was there and to ask about returning them or - ya kno- it just wasn't the right time, but I loved the place. Loved that coat, til I lost it in a bar on St. Paddy's in Boston. I weep for that coat... In those days, they were all about turnover and donations and great mens' clothes in women's wearable sizes. They did a good job of sorting the crap out, stocking stuff people actually wanted to purchase and tossing (or recycyling - dunno) the rest. These days, they're located in a huge house across from First Federal Savings Bank, next to a house that is also associated with pet protection in some way, though I'm not entirely sure how. And all the fra-fra makes its way in the doors, it seems. They're fairly cranky about shoppers now, though, and by that, I mean...it doesn't really seem like they want anyone to come in the shop. They certainly don't want you to do so with any sort of extraneous items (per signage), whether your wallet, cell, or whatever, but even when I've left my purse / bag in the car, I'm not sure I've ever gotten anything other than a suspicious scowl when I walk in, despite keeping my hands clear at all times and turning anything I want to buy in to the cashier nearly as soon as I touch it. And they're pretty...um...verbal about their crankiness. Their pricing these days is fairly cray-cray, especially considering that their items are donated. The items that they like (whether they're actually valuable or not) are up-priced, which inevitably means that most "statement" decor items or things that would otherwise be au courant, stick around in the shop forever. Don't even bother with anything in a case - it's been there for years, and for a reason. ETA: Per a nasty message I received, ten spot is more - well - editorial usage than the eighteen dollars plus tax I spent on my wrecked, now lost, well-loved pea coat. I know exactly how much I spent on it, as I went without lunch money for a month to pay for it and it kept me as warmish as I could expect from a threadbare coat with no lining for 18$ plus tax for six years. So, maybe, reign in the judgement and belligerence, K? As, after all, it was a shredded piece of clothing no one but a broke-ass punk kid could get away with wearing in public, from jump. And it was 1991. I truly wish the owner's comments were still available here (from her removed review of her own shop) as there is no better indication of how little she esteems her customers than her own sentiment (though there are also several "not recommended" reviews that seem completely legit, that leave a distinct impression on this topic - including belligerent response to a child shoplifter - really. SMH.). I've donated entire rooms-full of tchotchkeys, antiques and homegoods to this place...and have been treated like a convicted, tagged and tattooed shoplifter every time I walk through the door. I dealt with it because I wanted to help animals locally and felt this was my only option, despite it all. It's good news that they make over 2 mil on gaming as reported to the state - because they should close their shop, which appears of late to be an intentional profit sink at around 1% of that (gross), minus operational costs (they use this shop to justify staffing and other overhead costs). I no longer feel obligated to deal with their nonsense belligerence to contribute to the community after reviewing their public record filings. Done, done, done (both as a donor and a buyer - and for the record, I want organizations I care about to have money to use in the service of clients, not homegoods to dust in the hope of a purchase someday, by an idiot too stupid to know the value of things).

I have only visited this thrift store once to shop. They have a lot of stuff. I didn't find…read moreanything I personally wanted that day but my shopping method is sort of , whatever I can't live without on a particular day or whatever says take me home. It seemed pretty well organized. I did like finding out that they support the animals of the county (I am new to the area). I have dropped off several donations since. They have an area by the back door that you can leave items even when they are closed. Which is very convenient. Need a book , a knick knack or a pair of jeans ? They probably have it. A large mix of thrift store and antique items. I will visit again.
