Glenariff, which is known as 'The Queen of the Glens', is one of the nine Glens of Antrim. It is reputedly the most beautiful. They are all individually noted as areas of both natural beauty and of scientific interest.
In the Glenariff area alone you can encounter valleys, sandy beaches, cliffs, boglands, wooded glens, forests, waterfalls and a picturesque village.
You can take some great walks through the forest, past the rivers and flowing waterfalls. Look out for the hugely impressive 'Mare's Tail' waterfall which drops hundreds of feet. It's beside the main road near Kilmore.
If you fancy a forest walk somewhere a little different then head here to the forest park. You won't regret it. Situated at the park is the absolutely beautiful 'Waterfall Walkway' which is about 3 miles long and is a great spot which features panoramic landscapes and peaceful riverside walks.
The attraction also includes disabled access, a visitor centre, an exhibition area, interactive display, shop, caravan/camping site (open Easter - October) and a seasonal restaurant which complements this "gateway to the Glens". read more
