I contacted this company to do some basic electrical work at our home. At first it was a refreshing because there was someone who actually took my call instead of an answering service. I forwarded a "punch list" description of work to be done. The owner called and set a date to come by, no mention of rates, pricing, or intended service dates. A week or so later some young dude (not the owner) shows up with a tool bag ready to start working. Again, zero information at this time about a cost ESTIMATE. It was shocking, sent the dude packing down the road. The owner calls me an hour or so later screaming and yelling that I have wasted his time and money and was a completely obnoxious jerk. I'm not sure in what universe ANYONE lets a contractor do work at their house with an open checkbook and just lets them bill you for anything possible once they're on site. We have flipped two homes previously as well as numerous improvements to our own home, and NEVER have we had a contractor say, "I'll let you know how much when it's over." Drywall, plumbers, hvac, ALL of them give a base estimate with some statement or mention of potential increase based on issues they may encounter during the project. Even my lawn guy. So, who does business like this? On what planet? I explained this but the owner remained belligerent and completely irrational. It seemed like some sort of sick practical joke. How dare you, Mr Customer, want to know a price BEFORE I perform the service was the message. Who does business like this? Unbelievable! read more
