My son was born 2 months premature & was too tiny to be circumcised. White Plains Hospital NICU referred me to Dr. Glassman because he performs all of the circumcisions for the NICU. On my first visit to his office, I found Dr. Glassman to be cold & abrupt. Regardless, he was the urologist that the NICU uses, so I felt comfortable enough to use him for the procedure when my son turned 1. Right after the procedure was done, Dr. Glassman made a comment about my son's penis size, saying that it was very large, which it is clearly not. I felt mocked & embarrassed. Fast forward to the 3 follow-up appointments that we had... even though I insisted that my son's penis did not look "right", Dr. Glassman kept telling me that my son's penis looked "great" & to manipulate his foreskin on a daily basis if I was concerned. My maternal intuition (and the way his penis looked) told me that there was something wrong. So I took my son to his pediatrician. His pediatrician completely agreed with me & referred me to a different pediatric urologist. The new urologist instantly told me that my son's penis did not look "normal". Not enough of his foreskin was cut off. He is now scheduled to have a second surgery to remove the excess foreskin in 6 months. My experience with Dr. Glassman has been the worst that I've ever had with a physician. read more
