Visiting Helen, GA has been on my travel "bucket list" for sometime now and amazing shops like this Glassblowing Shop is what helped make my trip even better. Glassblowing shop is located in downtown Helen, GA in a row of other unique shops just a few yards from the river. While photography is welcomed, video is not. They have a glassblowing demonstration going on during most of their hours of operation and I was excited to watch a glass dragon be created in front of my eyes (and camera). It was truly amazing (and free). Glassblowing Shop also accepts custom orders (that's one of their specialities) and they can even write your name out of glass. Staff members are friendly and helpful and prices are reasonable. I loved looking at all of the different glass ornaments and would've bought out the whole store if I could! There's no doubt that I'll pay a visit to this shop again the next time I'm in Helen. read more

I was excited to visit Helen for the first time, Was looking forward to bringing home unique souvenirs. Unfortunately for this place, they have a RUDE male employee. They don't even have the courtesy to talk to you, only give you death stares and make you feel uncomfortable. Honestly don't waste your time even visiting the town, everyone I encountered working in the local shops/restaurants were miserable, (aside from the train depot conductor). Skip the overcrowded, overpriced downtown area, and just enjoy nature at Anna Ruby falls and Unicoi Park. Visited mid March 2025. read more

A neat little place to grab souvenir gifts that aren't the typical t-shirt, mug, keychain, etc. There were cool glass thermometers, jewelry, and neato items all made from glass. For only $10, you can have a cool display trinket with a customizable name and birthstone. Granted the name will be in white, but for each color you add, it's only $3 more. There was also an area where you can see employees make the glass items. If you place an order for the name display, you can either wait around for it as it gets made within 15 mins or so OR you can pick it up later. The shop is located on the main road (Main Street) that runs through the village. It's near the bridge that runs over the tubing area near the public restrooms. read more

The entire store got to listen to his political views. It's definitely your choice to preach socialism in your store. However, I do not believe it's a good business decision. read more

Cute little shop hidden away.. It was very enjoyable seeing all the different items hanging or laid out to view. I loved that you could have your name drawn in glass within 30 mins and it was all reasonable priced. This shop was definitely a highlight to my vacation, we spent the day in Helen Georgia and they had lots of cute shops, but this shop was hands down my favorite shop to visit. I purchased a bunch of discounted mystery boxes, and it was so worth it! Even though I didn't know what I was getting in the box, they were all a pleasant surprise and I somehow loved them all! But we also purchased two of glass products. It was also incredible watching them do the glassblowing. They will literally do a custom glass blowing order right in front of you, and it doesn't seem to take long at all. I would 100% recommend this, to anyone that I'd looking for something unique. Absolutely loved the shop! The staff was very friendly and the pieces were all magnificent. It's definitely a stop when you're in Helen Georgia! There are so many different pieces for all types of people, great gifts for Christmas, birthdays,holidays or heck any other day because there's so many wonderful things to choose from! Scott and his employees went above and beyond every time we've been in there to explain their craft and keep their tradition going. Even when I was in there a times, a child had accidentally dropped a piece. Staff was very Kind and proceeded to explain that it can be fixed and they would take care of it for free. This is a very touristy store but offers a great variety of beautiful glass art items. Several of them sparkle beyond belief, and many items can be purchased as souvenirs fairly low priced. They offer live demos of the glass blowing, and the store is filled with amazing glass work! This is one of the better shops to stop into while visiting this touristy, apline-esque place in Georgia. read more

I bought Alabama Crimson Tide pieces for myself and as a gift to my Mother. I unwrapped them to check them out & all seemed fine until I went to place the one I was keeping for myself in my display cabinet. The letters fell off and the small glass elephant went crashing to the floor! I investigated the mirrored base only to find that everything was attached by small drops of hot glue. My boyfriend called the shop only to be told by one of the ladies that work there, that if you drop it, it will break???? Like we don't know if you drop glass it will break! First of all I did not drop it, it fell apart. No suggestions or indication that I could return it or get a refund. In fact no help at all! You just lost a customer Glass Blowing Shop over $31.98. For the most part, this is a typical glass store. However, they had one item that I loved: barometric swans. The pretty little glass swans are full of a colored water that rises and falls in the neck of the swan depending on local weather. read more

Unique glass items. I visited there on 6/24/12 and was very unhappy that the price on the glass pieces do not reflect the actual amount that will be charged. A piece I chose was displayed with a name on a placard (?). When the piece was finished and charged, it was a HUGE surprise there was an additional charge of $10 for the name and an additional charge of $3 for each color represented on the name. So, there was an additional charge of $16 to the already priced item! I had ordered two pieces and expecting to pay approximately $48-$50, my charge was over $84!!! I made a suggestion the displayed pieces should indicate that adding a name and color (which was the manner on which the piece was displayed), should reflect the actual amount of the purchase, plus tax, of course. This is clearly a misleading manner for any merchandise or merchant. Lastly, I was purchasing one of the items as a gift. The 'glassblower' completely spoiled the surprise gift by announcing the name who will be the recipient of the gift on a storewide PA system! What a bummer!!! Did I mention when I checked my credit card statement, the $84 charge was processed but the credit for the piece I refused to take has not been processed. This merchant is talented at glassblowing but not owning nor operating a customer oriented business! I have spoken with a very nice lady today, 6/25, who explained the credit will show on my statement in 3-4 days and apologized telling me that new employees sometimes don't know what can be done to "make it right".
