The Orxata is different than the horchata in america at the mexican places. This one is lighter, less cinnamon flavor, and less creamy. Maybe because it's fresh, but there is a grassy, citrusy note to it. Glad I got to try it.

Apparently it's a super known place, old and appreciated in Valencia. They won some award and they are also famous for creating some original flavors like paella, gazpacho, salmon.... Well I'm not so adventurous and as I said I wanted something sweet so I choose something more basic : blueberry ans mango. My enthusiasm ended pretty soon, at the first bite actually, this is just not tasting good...you can barely recognize the flavor because of a strong taste of cream and sugar. I should have guess that seeing the colors ot it, too pale to taste like the real fruit. So, this is more that disappointing...I was really speechless looking at all those people enjoying their ice-cream and I was thinking to myself "Am I too demanding?", it may be because I lived in Italy and had the best ice-cream there...then I try this one another time annnnddd nope! This is just not good at all, I coudn't finish it and it ended in the trash... Conclusion : make yourself your own opinion, and don't trust the crowd, some people just has no taste :)

Another mark in the minus column; while the price tags are quite large, the portion sizes are anything but - the salad and the sides of chicken curry were positively minisucule. Bottom line: If you can ignore the crazy-high prices and small portions, the food here tastes good.

When we went it was busy, but we were able to get a table right away. Since they are known for their horchata and fartons, it was easy to know what to order. The horchata was refreshing, not overly sweet and not heavy on the cinnamon like it is back in the US. The farton we dipped in the horchata. It was light, airy, warm and fresh. It doesn't have a ton of flavor but it's still tasty. On our second visit, we got the churros and chocolate. We only tried a couple different ones on our trip but the churros here were my favorite. Crunchy outside, soft on the inside, and the chocolate was the perfect level of sweetness for me. Horchata is served cold and is dairy free (although it seems like it has Dairy) and was a bit too sweet for me but definitely one to try. Bunuelos was tasty and had more of a donut texture. The more sizable of two locations, another visited just 27-hours later in the city's Ruzafa area far more crowded and loud, guests visiting Dulce de Leche Jesus at any time of day will likely find the café busy and after waiting in a small queue the largest issue is one of deciding what *not* to order from a collection of more than fifty choices, made to order coffee the only things delaying guests from collecting their goods and eating immediately with numbered cards handed out along with an invitation to take a seat as items are plated. Populated with about 90% locals, many of them clearly regulars based on the manner in which they were greeted by staff, it was on the far side of a wooden picnic table that a seat was taken followed by perhaps five minutes wait as a smooth Americano was prepared, the radio overhead American and largely ignorable with the setting shabby-chic and relaxing, a total of six items soon to arrive including a flaky Argentinean "Bay Biscuit" provided complimentary as the young lady at the register had difficulty describing what was essentially laminated dough crusted in Sugar with a savory linger that seemed to be from creamy White Cheese as opposed to Buttermilk. Offering savories in addition to the sweets, the former not really of much interest despite the fact that all of it looked quite nice, Breakfast progressed with two small Alfajores that outperformed those Stateside thanks to both the quality of the Caramel and unsweetened Coconut used for balance, the freshly-made Mil Hojas also quite successful with the Pastry layers still flaky and crisp with the thick Dulce de Leche creating no sog.
