I just moved here in Bear, DE from Los Angeles, CA. This is the 2nd park I found nearby and I really love this place. Perfect for walking. The entire loop will give you 3 miles. You can stay on the walking trail and/or you can also take the trail in the wood. Plenty of things to do. They have kids playground, tennis courts, basket ball courts, picket ball court, dog parks, Frazer house (by the red barn) where they offer Zumba, Line dance or any fitness. Make sure to check the Newcastle Recreation Center website for their schedule.

This is one of the biggest public park i Delaware. At least that how I feel. You want to run, walk, cycle or play basketball this is a great park. Of course you can take you kids to play at playground. Also this park has a Autism Park for Kids as well. Very well designed and assembled. You want to bring your dogs. Welcome they have Dog Park As well so your friends can socialize Also time to time there are public organizations like Camping :) This parks has a lot to offer. Give it a try you won't regret.

A gem of a park around the corner from our home! My family had so much fun here! My two year old had fun on ALL of the playgrounds. Especially the more toddler friendly ones. They truly built these with children in mind. Parents everywhere looked like they were enjoying themselves with their kids. It was very spacious. The Spectrum Park was very cool! All kids can enjoy that section and the equipment was super cool. I believe you can rent the pavilions for parties, and there are picnic tables as well. There's a skate park, a beautiful pond, and a large trail you can walk/run too. We will absolutely be back to spend another beautiful day here :)

Cleaned regularly, a great main trail (2.6 mi). For a public park, it is well maintained. There are quite a few pavilions which can be rented, they come along with a bathroom from the county. Tennis courts, basketball courts, a skate park and a dog park. On Fridays, spring and summer, they have a farmers market late afternoon- early evening. It gets a little crowded on the hotter days and parking gets horrendous. Every once in a while, you can find the ice cream man posted with treats near the main playground. There is also a gated play area for those on the spectrum. As well as mini fitness obstacles along the 896 side.

Great place to run! Good community feel. Pokestops and Pokemon all around. Spend time alone, a running partner or bring the family. Enjoy!

I have always enjoyed farmer's markets. They are a lot more fun than grocery stores. I learned about this super little one while running at the Glasgow Park. Yes, it is very small, only 12-13vendors. But it is nonetheless a very pleasant place to shop. There is live music and BBQ, which make it more like a party than a market! The business owners proudly sell things they grow and are very nice to talk to. I left today with a lot of fresh vegetables and fruits, including a huge watermelon and a squash that looks like an UFO.

Love this park! I love the trails, fields, basketball and tennis courts, skate park, sensory park, playground sections by suggested ages, the historical bulletins about battles and families in the area (Pencader hundred, Cooch's bridge, Lafayette, etc.). There is a farmer's market here. Great place for a picnic, family reunion, stroll, run or just some fresh air!

We go there all of the time. Clean and green, and often crowded. We are so fortunate to have such an awesome place so close to home.

Always love this park. Great walking paths and beautiful trails. While it is across from a police station, always be careful.

There is nothing to do here for a beginner except maybe play with this tiny pyramid and try to learn how to skate transition, The shallow concrete is pretty Jenky it's far jankier than the deep end and the jankyness slows you down a lot, so keep that in mind. The roll in just throws you into the wall unless you go in sideways like a surfer or something and it's pretty sketch doing that, I'd say it's great for round wall and vert riders the vert side is just barely 8' so it's a great entry point for the vert curious to get your feet wet, bring softer wheels as the rough pavement isn't letting you slide out super easy which is a plus for some and a minus for others.

Built in the fall of 2014, this is the latest Spohn Ranch addition to our area. Unlike their modest plaza at Wakefield and their luckluster design at Lake Fairfax, though, this creation is exactly what contemporary designs are supposed to be: blended elements that combine something for everyone, look like a work of art, and leave you constantly finding more lines. I am a fan of big transitions but this place is still really fun at mostly 5 feet high. The rails are of the medium to low variety (all round) and the ledges have lots of different approach angles, heights, etc...i.e. way more fun than your usual skatepark hubba. The trannies are a little bumpy but not so much that it's distracting. I only bring it up because I was surprised that such a well-done park has that as a (very minor) flaw. What creative genius on the Spohn Ranch team designed this place, and why couldn't they have done Lake Fairfax? Run, don't walk, to this place. Bonus for families: the kiddie jungle gym park a stones throw away is like something out of Knotts Berry Farm. It must have cost a fortune, has restrooms, and a mist section for hot summer months.

They have a great field for baseball. Please note, Freehold Little League is held here so if there is a game, parking will be hard. They also have many playgrounds for kids. They seem to have themed playgrounds so that if you are meeting other parents, just say, "we'll convene at the blue or pirate ship playground" and everyone will find it. They have a fenced in skateboard ramps for tweens and up which I personally think is a fabulous idea. The ramps are spaced and curved only for skateboards. Longboards should definitely stay only on the paved paths where they belong. Speaking of trails, their trails are mixed between paved and dirt. You can safely go on a light walking trail here either solo or as you are walking your dogs. They also provide a few stations with plastic bags for the owners to clean up after their dogs. They also have basketball courts, dog runs, picnic areas, a spray ground on hot summer's days and my favorite, a sports field with obstacle courses. Perfect for the bigger kids with lots of energy and to build coordination. I went in March where things are just somewhat starting to bloom. I can only imagine the splendor in late June where everything will be fully bloomed and the grass will be lush. I look forward to revisiting this park, especially when it's Freehold Township Day where there will be plenty of fireworks, rides and the Vets car show!
