They are particularly striking at this time of year when they are snow capped on a bright sunny day. A jaunt up to their highest point, Mount Duncolm, is an easy one day walk from Glasgow which offers stunning views all the way to Greenock on a clear day.

We only went in there to buy a…read more'midge net' (to be worn over one's head to keep the midges at bay - not to catch them) and some midge repellent for my long-suffering husband, certainly not for fishing tackle (I'll leave it to someone else to review that side of the business). However, I must say that the owner was extremely helpful and we all had a nice chat while deciding what to buy.
