Dropped off a guitar to have a plek job done. They called and said it didn't need it and recommended a setup. Based on good reviews I trusted this advice. Tech asked how I like my setup and I said low action. Waited a month and half and just picked up my guitar and the action is really high and the guitar plays much worse now then it did prior. Its a 2k guitar so its not junk. Really disappointed I waited so long for a subpar setup. read more

I want to start by saying I think glacier Instruments is a good place. The workers ive encountered seem to be down to earth people. I think they do excellent work. Now thats to the side. I have to honestly give it three stars do to the long amount of time it takes to get a guitar back. It takes so long if I didn't have an extra guitar I would be out of gig work. What a way to run a business. I got there parked in the parking lot and the outside was a mess which raised a red flag immediately for me. Over grown weeds and trash everywhere had to stand outside in almost 100 degree Sun and fill out a form then a rude person answered the door took my guitar and slamed the door no receipt no nothing! I knocked and he opens the door I asked him how much and how long it would take,I'm here for a week. He closes the door comes back and says 2 weeks tells me the price and shuts the door again no receipt No prof I even dropped the guitar off there! I've been going to Glaser Instruments over 30 years now for work on my 1978 Gibson SG Standard guitar. They make my guitar play better than I ever thought it possibly could! Upon recommendation from two friends, I brought my acoustic guitar to Glaser so they could fix another guitar shop's mistakes. Unlike other places I've been, the tech actually took time to listen me. That's a huge plus. They said turnaround was about 2 weeks, which was fine for me. However I did get the guitar back in a week and a half. I have to tell you that they did an absolutely outstanding job fixing the other shop's mistakes! I couldn't be happier with the results. The guitar now sounds great and plays perfectly. Excercise extreme caution. I took in a vintage Gibson, no issues. Took in a low-end nylon string, one of my favorite recording guitars, and someone there ruined the guitar. It was unplayable and untuneable when I got it back. I took the guitar back in and one of the techs said "That guitar is a piece of shit" and refused any rectifying. Glaser later mailed me a check for $40 (I spent $220). Beware. George Gruhn and Chris Bozung won't mess you up. read more

My brother in law recommended them to me - it's where he takes his and others he works with. I brought my Larrivée in for a setup (which my 18 year old guitar has never had), they adjusted the truss rod and put on a new set of strings. Plays and sounds better, much more enjoyable to play.
