What a ripoff. All I wanted was to print one page and scan it back in, along with two other scans,…read moreand it cost me 5,33€. Unbelievable.
The store was empty when I came in, but the sole staff member behind the counter didn't even acknowledge me until I looked around at the computers and copiers for a minute and said 'entschuldigung' twice. So I naturally assumed it was self-service, as it is in many other copy shops (i.e. put your USB stick in the computer, print your own doc and then pay for the pages you printed). But she pretty much laughed at me when I asked this, and then proceeded to ask her colleague in the back to help me, he said he was busy, she said she was busy, eventually he decided he could help me. He puts my USB stick in the computer, I tell him which doc it is, and he immediately prints it, without even giving me a moment to think about it. I only needed the last page, but he'd already printed the whole thing, which was 11 pages. And of course he printed it single-sided too - never even asked me how I wanted it done. Fine, I can suck up paying for a few extra printed pages (it ended up being 20 cents per page, black and white). But then I scan my three things, and go to the cash -- he tells me the total and my jaw almost drops to the floor. I thought I was going to spend about 50 cents on this whole thing. But apparently a scan costs 2,50€!! (Or maybe 2,30€, can't remember). Each additional scan is 25 cents. Generally scans are free, since it doesn't cost them any paper or ink, but I could understand charging a few cents for offering the service. But more than 2€?? Completely ridiculous. And of course he never informed me of any of the prices beforehand. I've been to several copyshops in other German cities and have gotten way more for a fraction of the price, and if not better service, at least I could do it myself. Needless to say, a complete waste of money. If you need something scanned in Ludwigsburg, ask a friend at one of the Hochschulen.
