Bear Lake can feel a bit like a food desert. Not a lot of choices, especially outside of summer. When we discovered Glady's we were thrilled. Legit delicious pizza, charming outdoor seating and even open on Sundays! It's worth the drive across the border from Utah to Idaho for a pie. There are several standard pizza places in Garden City and Glady's is heads and shoulders over any other pizza. My only complaint is that it's becoming so popular that they need to hire more help! I came in last evening for dinner with 3 friends. We ordered 4 pizzas. It was not particularly busy, but not empty either. Pizzas looked great, good price, and other food looked great too. After 40 min and only one friend getting a pizza, I went and let one of the gals working know that we were missing three pizzas. We had noticed that a big group of 13 who came after us had already gotten all of their food, including what I believe was our three pizzas. She said that they must have gotten things jumbled and she would go check. I let her know our three numbers. We waited again another 15-20 min and she walked past us. We waved her down and asked about our pizzas. She said that they had told her they already made them.. yes! And gave them to someone else! So a young man comes out and gives us popsicles.. and said they are making them now. He said only one was in the oven, again this was another 10 min or so after speaking with them again. Meanwhile we see other tables get their pizza. Probably 6 other groups received food while we sat there over the evening waiting. I'm leaving this review in hopes management will see and make sure to train better. They were all nice employees. 1) if they had understood the first time to send someone else out to make sure we got our food (why give numbers) this never would have happened. 2) after I told you we didn't get them, follow up to make sure your customers have their food and are happy 3) if you have customers who are waiting almost 1.5 hours for food, please don't insult them by giving popsicles. Offer a drink and maybe an appetizer, not excuses. That would have made us feel happy about things. We did finally get our pizzas to go. My friends asked for refunds which the gal said she would look into but never came back. We did not want to cause a scene so we just left. That was my first time to bear lake, I'm not sure I would recommend coming here until they get it together a little better. It's a very cute place and they have a lot of potential. Again, the employees were very nice, just inexperienced. I don't want to leave 1 star review for that reason. read more

Glady's Pizza is absolutely perfect. These pizzas are on par with the best you can get in Italy or anywhere else. Super fresh, delicious and cooked in a woodfired oven which is EVERYTHING! We are not talking basic canned sauce and chunky undercooked mozzarella from a bag. These ingredients and recipes are top-notch and built before your eyes with pride. This place is owned and run by sweet people. The food was made quickly and if you chose to eat there they had some indoor seating and wonderful outdoor seating. Went on Sunday night and waited over 30 minutes for our pizza. When it arrived, it was not as we ordered it and the woman who brought it to our table didn't speak enough English to understand the problem with our order. I went inside to the counter and waited in line to speak to the gentleman working there who said they were out of arugula and that's why it wasn't on our pizza. No apology, no offer of a refund, so I went out to eat my now chilly pizza, as I was now ravenous! After we were done, I went back in to request a refund for the missing extra ingredient only to be told that it would be too difficult to find my order in his system so he grabbed the tip jar and offered me a couple of dollars from the jar. As I work in the restaurant business, the last thing I would do is take money from the staff tip jar, so I declined. We have eaten here a number of times with mixed results but we won't be back any time soon. We had really hoped this little business would succeed but apathetic employees are the downfall of any business. read more

I own a beach front cabin in garden city and have had it for years. When I come up I always go to Gladys for the sandwiches and the lotto! This is a hidden Jem and is the best place to visit if you need anything the " pathetic utah" can't give. ( IE: real alcohol, lottery tickets and scratchers) . The best part is the staff they are always willing to help you for anything and explain how the lottery and scratchers work. If I were you I would see if a guy named Will is working he will help you better than anyone else. This man needs a raise just saying read more

This place had some of the best service we received while visiting bear lake. They were some of the friendliest and most helpful individuals. They also had a pretty wide variety of liquor and beer surprisingly to me since their location was small. We visited them during raspberry days weekend so everyone in town was busy and packed but the employees at Gladys handled the weekend with a smile where as every other business we visited seemed to be irritable and put off. I will recommend Gladys to anyone and everyone and will be sure to give them my business each time I visit Bear Lake. The koa and bear lake pizza need to get some customer service lessons from Gladys Place. read more

I just want everyone to know: this IS A LIQUOR STORE!!!! We were staying on the Utah side of Bear Lake and we thought we would have to drive way into Idaho to get booze and scratchers, but nope, Gladys' had all the convenience store necessities, as well as booze, without the brutal Utah taxes and attitudes. BTW they don't sell liquor on Sundays, so plan ahead. read more

My wife and I stopped here mid-afternoon on a weekday for lunch, at the recommendation of the guy at the visitor center on route 89. He said the sandwiches were the best around. Apparently there's not much sandwich competition in the area. We both got the Glady-ater sandwich (turkey, ham, cheese, avocado, etc). We had the choice of toppings (lettuce, tomato, etc). I only wanted mustard and the side pickle, which the girl said they were out of. The sandwich didn't come with anything else, and cost $8. It wasn't worth $3. And the girl that made it seems like she'd rather die than smile. When paying at the front register we had to wait over 5 minutes for guys in front of us to buy lottery tickets. I'd have thought that the guy checking us out would have let us quickly pay instead of standing there all that time with food in our hands. He was also averse to smiling. It looks like there are a lot of other places to stop in Fish Haven or Garden City for a decent meal. We won't be stopping in this place for an over-priced sandwich ever again. read more
