What really stood out, though, was the service. Our experience was made significantly better by how warm, attentive and genuinely hospitable the team was. It's one thing to enjoy the wine, but exceptional service is what turns somewhere you enjoyed into somewhere you actually want to return to. Another thing worth knowing: Matthews also offers offsite events and tastings, which is such a great option if you want to bring the experience to a private event rather than hosting everything onsite. There were a few little things about the overall experience that probably would have landed Matthews at a 4/5 for me, but the hospitality completely won me over. Great wine and welcoming hospitality will get me back every time.

Jarrett is an amazing artist. Tasting room staff were friendly and helpful. Beautiful grounds and plenty of seating inside and out. The winery was recently sold and moving to the Somm property and a new label "from the sky down" is staying in the current space. We still made the most of our time here regardless of whatever the host's problem was. I love that we were welcomed with a complimentary pour, and there was plenty of parking in the lot outside. There were 5 of us, all present at the table. Our server took two people's orders, then walked off. We were so confused. She did come back, but it was weird. Throughout the visit, she never seemed to know when to come to our table. I almost wish we could have just gone to the bar. We only had strange interactions with her and it got to the point where it became frustrating. I had a strict 90 min timeline before I had to be somewhere and was only on my 3rd wine at about 80 min, so I asked to skip ahead to the last one. I still paid full price and tipped, but I didn't feel like what I paid was aligned with the value I received. The tasting room is lovely and the member lounge is fantastic. I was not super impressed but am willing to give it another shot, as I recognize I may have just caught our server on a bad day.

THE BLACK AND WHITE: This was our second winery stop and we wanted to do a quick wine flight and go onto the next winery. We got the mixed wine flight that included a rose, sauv blanc, and three red blends. The sauv blanc was very nice and all the red blends were good to round out the tasting. I'd say my favorite sip from the red blend was the Sequel. Service was great and was able to walk us through the story behind each wine. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Ultimately a flight of 5 wines was around $30. Wines tasted great and service was impeccable.
