Just stopped here for the nice views over the valley and the River Ionanan.
The parking bay just holds a handful cars - but there was nobody else around on that summer day. And indeed the views were really pretty and rewarding.
Nice green hills, the river flowing through the valley here. It's a beautiful scenery to take in and deserves five stars.
The problem was about taking in the nice scenery. Because the moment I stepped out of the car I was surrounded by midges, which started biting (also in my face) right away. I managed to get a few pics...but boy, were these little buggers aggressive. I've came across many midges on this trip (and the trips to Scotland before), but never as aggressive as on this spot. About 30-40 followed me in the car. At least got rid of them with all the windows open at 60mph. But not after get bit dozens of times. read more
