Awesome Museum! We are so, so fortunate to have this is our own backyard- Flathead Valley friends! It truly is a gem. Beyond the museum itself, which rotates shows/exhibitions regularly, the Hockaday Museum of Art is at the forefront of the art world in the Glacier Park, western, Montana history and contemporary art scene, here in Montana. They host: Arts in The Park, Plein air Glacier, artists retreats and a variety of youth art classes, to name a few. Along with their extensive list of contemporary artists who show their work at the Museum, they have a very impressive permanent collection. (Check their website or social media for exhibition dates and scheduled events). Better yet, stop-in and meet their welcoming and knowledgeable staff. As a member and a supporter of the museum, I highly encourage everyone, especially those in our small town community, to visit the museum, frequently check in to see what's new and find ways to get involved and support the many, many talented Montana artists! read more

This museum was mostly canvased oil paintings. They were nice, just not my taste at all. They did offer a really nice video to watch. The lady at the front desk was very welcoming and informative. read more
