Cold springs community seems to be trying very hard to keep the community together by offering these types of events. Some things you can enjoy at the Cold Springs market is an assortment of food trucks. This time they had a gourmet cheese truck and Aloha shack. They also do jump houses and face painting for the kiddos. It's $25 for the Saturday to host a table as well. I think November is their last event until next year. Hopefully the word will get out and this event can grow larger for them.

But I've spent more here than I spent at the Saturday farmers market at the Summit Sierra, excluding what I spend on Paul Schat's Bakery. Wedge Cheese shop has a booth here. They have a nice selection of cheeses. I had oodles of questions for them about their cheeses. After lots of discussion, I bought two small wedges. "That's a lot of work to sell two small pieces of cheese," I remarked. "Yes. It usually is," one of the owners sighed. They have the least expensive fruit here of any farmers market I've been to. Only $2 a pound. But it's only one fruit stand. And the meat booth sold lamb jerky. I've never had that before so I had to buy a bag of that. It was interesting. So while it's a small farmers market, it was a place I wanted to spend my money.

I was very happy to see Buñuelos being sold by the same family that has constantly brought buñuelos to the Tahoe area. As someone who visits farmers' markets often when traveling and frequents my local market in Carson City, I am always looking for great new markets to check out. Ski Run Farmers Market was great, but I would describe it as more of a craft fair than a farmers' market. I forgot to snap photos, but the setup they have works well. It's set up as two long strips of vendors on either side of the street. I like the setup, and it allowed for smooth foot traffic. While there are a few farm stands from CA and a handful of food vendors, the bulk of this market is artisan crafts, jewelry, and clothing. This is something to keep in mind if you're visiting this market and expecting a huge selection of fresh food. The vibes here were still great, with two live music booths and great Tahoe weather. All of the vendors I interacted with were super friendly. Worth checking out if you are in South Lake Tahoe on a Wednesday night!

This is by far, is my favorite Farmer's Market in the Reno, Sparks area. The focus is always on the…read morefruit and vegetables. I love being able to buy my fruits and produce from the farmers. I love that there are minimal Arts and Crafts and the focus is on the fresh foods. Every Tuesday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. All the vendors are friendly and can offer advice if you need it. I do wish I would see more vegetables and fresh herbs. Some of the other vendors are Lavender, Pet Snacks, Fresh Breads and Baked Goods, and a local creamery that had ice creams by the pints. The last time I went there was a jewelry maker and knife-sharpening vendors. The fruit vendors offer samples of the fruit for you to taste. I can't wait to go back and get a variety of plumcots. Can't wait to make some jam.
