Cold springs community seems to be trying very hard to keep the community together by offering these types of events. Some things you can enjoy at the Cold Springs market is an assortment of food trucks. This time they had a gourmet cheese truck and Aloha shack. They also do jump houses and face painting for the kiddos. It's $25 for the Saturday to host a table as well. I think November is their last event until next year. Hopefully the word will get out and this event can grow larger for them.

They have a nice selection of cheeses. I had oodles of questions for them about their cheeses. After lots of discussion, I bought two small wedges. "That's a lot of work to sell two small pieces of cheese," I remarked. "Yes. It usually is," one of the owners sighed. They have the least expensive fruit here of any farmers market I've been to. Only $2 a pound. But it's only one fruit stand. And the meat booth sold lamb jerky. I've never had that before so I had to buy a bag of that. It was interesting. So while it's a small farmers market, it was a place I wanted to spend my money.

SUMMARY Visited here per recommendation from our hotel as we were visiting for our wedding anniversary. We went to get something small to eat and dropped by Chimayo's. Afterwards we visited the farmer's market and picked up two desserts. VENUE As mentioned, the market is small but they had about everything that a larger one would have too. Fresh veggies and fruit, crafts, ice cream, pies, and food. We dropped by one place called "Tahoe Pan Ice Cream" which is one of those places that serve poured cream and "scraped" ice cream in a cup. You might've seen this on travelogues on Youtube (popular in SE Asia) and yes, that's the style of scraped ice cream I'm talking about. It was quite good and in a shareable portion size just right for us. There was another shop we dropped by that sold homemade pies. We struck up a conversation with the owners who were long time residents of SLT. They were a nice couple, so we bought their one and only remaining Key Lime Pie. Sorry no pics because we gobbled that delicious pie like nobody's business that same night :) Overall if you're in the area during the summer, it's definitely a good stop if you're NOT looking for large crowds and away from the NLT "scene" near the casinos.

Taped off floors with markers for lines and distancing, and vendors setup to manage it all with a smile! It was an absolute pleasure shopping at the market. We picked up some delicious strawberries, squash, figs, and corn! The tomatoes from Prema Farms were beautiful and delicious, and so was the honey sourdough they made! Crowds around 10am were light and it was a breeze to shop. Can't wait to return!

I love that there are minimal Arts and Crafts and the focus is on the fresh foods. Every Tuesday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. All the vendors are friendly and can offer advice if you need it. I do wish I would see more vegetables and fresh herbs. Some of the other vendors are Lavender, Pet Snacks, Fresh Breads and Baked Goods, and a local creamery that had ice creams by the pints. The last time I went there was a jewelry maker and knife-sharpening vendors. The fruit vendors offer samples of the fruit for you to taste. I can't wait to go back and get a variety of plumcots. Can't wait to make some jam.
