Visited Armani while shopping near the Spanish Steps in Rome and was very disappointed by the lack of customer service. We were interested in purchasing a pair of shoes for my husband and the only person that greeted us was the door man. There were five employees and including my family, 6 customers in the store. We weren't acknowledged until we asked for help and when we asked for a size 10, we were told the shoe my husband was holding was a 10. He held it up to his foot and it was about 2 inches longer than his foot. The lady saw that it was too big and then asked if he needed an American 10. I would think that you would start the conversation with a qualifying question... She proceeded to look at a chart on a door to find the equivalent of an American 10. She then went off into a room and came back too quickly to let us know that the shoe my husband was holding was the last one. Maybe it's just me, but I would expect that a company like Armani would employ individuals that would pride themselves on customer service. If in fact that was the last pair of that particular shoe, I would expect that it would be known since I don't expect that product is flying out of the store with such velocity that inventory wouldn't be known. Truly I felt that no one wanted to assist us. Maybe it's because we we were young and didn't look like the typical Armani shopper, maybe it was because we were American, I'm not sure the reason but I left feeling that if we had been in the US, the level of service would have been very different. Definitely would not return to this retail location. read more
