So glad they were open when we stopped by! Tuscania is truly a must-visit Italian spot. From the…read moremoment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting, and everyone at our table left with delicious meals and an all-around happy mood. I started with a glass of Moscato that was perfectly chilled and just the right amount of sweet--light, refreshing, and not overpowering. For my appetizer, I had the bruschetta, which was fresh and flavorful, topped with juicy tomatoes, fragrant basil, and a drizzle of balsamic, toasted bread. For my main dish, I ordered the four-cheese gnocchi, and it did not disappoint. The gnocchi were soft and pillowy, coated in a rich, creamy blend of cheeses that was indulgent without being too heavy. Every bite was comforting and full of flavor. Highly recommend stopping here if you're craving authentic, satisfying Italian food in a welcoming setting. It's also a great place for great conversation--the cozy ambiance and unhurried pace make it easy to sit back, relax, and enjoy the moment.

The restaurant is 100 meters away on the plaza which is also where we checked-in. Ristorante Italiano Tuscana has an extensive menu of antipasti, pastas, meat dishes, desserts, and a full bar. They have an indoor, air-conditioned dining room and tables outdoors on the plaza. The food was very good, the portions appropriate, and the prices fair. We ate there twice and enjoyed our meals along with their resident dog, Rocco, who was very sweet, lingering near outdoor diners, but not begging or being a nuisance at all. The first night we had l'insalata caprese €8 and tortelli 4 formaggi ai burro e salvia €15 for my wife and the lasagna bolognese €10 for me along with a bottle of water with gas and a liter of sangria €12. My lasagna was delicious and HUGE, but my wife's tortelli had not been properly drained, watering down the rich butter and sage sauce, but my wife still enjoyed it. On the subsequent evening, we forewent the starter, my wife ordering the tagliatelli con funghi €10, me the spaghetti carbonara, and sharing the cotoletta alla milanese €12, a bottle of water and two glasses of house red wine. All were very tasty, especially the carbonara which was prepared in the traditional way by adding egg yokes just before serving with plenty o' pepper ... HOOAH! Our dinners, a starter, main and wine/water ran around €50, not bad for good meal for two, so Ristorante Toscania was a definite Travelvalue and worth a return visit the next time we go to Naval Air Station Rota. Really pretty restaurant decorated with old celebrity photos on the inside and then 2 nice outside…read moreeating areas- recommend sitting in the garden it has really pretty statues. -Ordered the burrata for an app- really fresh with HOT fresh bread, would totally recommend for a light appetizer. -We didn't want to buy a bottle of wine so we both ordered house glasses. House white was good and very similar to a dry Riesling. My mom loved her house rose. -I ordered the spaghetti bolognese for dinner. The pasta was cooked really well and the sauce was pretty good, wish it had more meat in it. I would try something different if I went again. -My mom got the linguini Michelangelo which she loved; prawns were cooked great. The service started off incredible. The entire waitstaff was very attentive to us and all took turns helping each table, however after it got busy we were kind of forgotten about. We had declined dessert and finished our meals and glasses and we just sat there for 20 minutes waiting for the check. Finally we got a servers attention and asked for it but she made us wait another 15 minutes while she bussed a 10-top table. I feel like she could have just quickly gotten our check to get us out of there since we had already been waiting so long but we finally could leave after about 30 minutes of sitting there with not even water.
