When I walked through the front door with my head down, I was immediately greeted by a "welcome to Herbally Grounded", then with a smile, the cashier Vernika asked if she could help me find anything. I said yes, with the mindset of just being sold anything that may not be beneficial to me, but why not give it a try? I must say, Vernika immediately removed my doubts and made me feel like I was an important member of Herbally Grounded. She displayed so much compassion, kindness, and actually listened to my concerns. For me, she was like a breath of fresh air. Unlike the medical field and doctors I've been seeing, who just treat me like a number and want to heavily medicate me, which I'm opposed to. My desire is for a healthier lifestyle. Through the guidance of Ms. Vernika, I was able to see hope in living a healthier lifestyle. I am now very optimistic and so appreciative of her for just listening and explaining in detail the different types of herbs and how they may help. I've worked in the customer service industry for over (30) years, and from the heart I can say she is an exemplary employee and it shows in how she treats and respects the customer. When I left, I was so enthusiastic about her suggestions that I called a friend and told her about my experience and my friend has plans to visit the store today. It left me scratching my head, as I did not remember it being where Yelp and Google said it's located. I thought maybe they moved but nope. I didn't realize Yelp had the wrong address the first time, as i happened to just stumble on it after going to Nakata Market. I let the owner know and he said he's been trying to get Yelp to correct it for years. Crying shame, as I wonder how many people tried to shop here and gave up after going to the wrong address. They called and the guy apologized and said he would put it up front so that I could pick it up in the morning. Jump to today. The guy at the front named "T", first of all he was wearing sun glasses inside, he rummages through the drawer for a second and says he can't find it so he leaves makes a joke about me thinking I can't hear it. Then comes back yelling at me talking about he's going to be manager soon. The managers are all looking for my id. Meanwhile the only employee I actually recognize calmly looks in the same drawer, sees my id and gives it to me. Idk his name. He had long hair. But he was truly the only one who was taking my situation seriously. T should not be a manager and the security guard who tried to escalate the situation more needs to be checked too. This visit was completely different. Every employee I interacted with was welcoming, and my cashier Alex? Or Felix? I wish I would've written it down, but I know his name had an "X" in it. He was so kind and friendly. I also had a great conversation with the store manager and I mentioned how much more positive the store felt. He shared that he was new and had been brought to this location to help create a more positive environment for both the employees and the customers. Whatever changes have been made are definitely working. This store feels like a completely different place than I remembered, and I'll happily stop in again whenever I'm in town. Great job, Sprouts!
