Prepare yourself to wait, but for yummy sandwiches worth the wait! Thanks for fellow yelpers I knew what to request. We waited for a very long time to order because hubby had his heart set on a porchetta sandwich from this spot. There was one guy working the ENTIRE restaurant - taking orders, making sandwiches, delivering food, and taking payment. I've never seen someone work so hard! We got a bottle of "funky" wine and 2 porchetta sandwiches: one regular and one "con crema." Both sandwiches were delicious but I think I preferred the original sandwich than the one with cream. I did get several tough bits in my sandwich I had to spit out, which made me gag a little, but all in all, it was delicious! I did prefer the porchetta at De Miccoli, but I don't think they have sandwiches so if sandwiches are what you're seeking, come here and bring your patience. You'll find this yummy spot in the bougainvillea across from the market. Don't walk by it like us!

Incredible, hidden gem in Piazza Mercato - amazing food! I agree this is the workshop of a true food artisan. To call them sandwiches doesn't do them justice. I recommend you do as I did, and simply ask Angelo to create a masterpiece for you. You won't be disappointed! read more
I was trying to catch this sandwich shop before I left Siena in the morning. Before it opened, I easily missed it. It was so hard to find because there weren't signs put out. I had to hunt down the exact address and find it by myself because Google Maps wasn't helping. It was so funny because I was pulling up photos on TripAdvisor. Just as I came across a photo of three guys, one of them actually pulled up in his motorcycle! He turned out to be the owner, and he was just opening up his business. We had the shop to ourselves after he opened up. He had a lot of menus - all of them are handwritten. Some key words to help: melanzana = eggplant/aubergine panino = sandwich (panini = sandwiches) formaggio = cheese Salsiccia = sausage The bread cut the roof of my mouth after about 10 bites, but the sandwich was so good! read more
Sandwich shop? More like the workshop of the sandwich artisian, who churns out art in the form of sandwiches. Metaphors aside, we came to this place based on the recommendation of our B&B Host Morgana, and was greeted by Angelo, the Da Vinci of Sandwiches. We didn't know what was good so we just asked him for his suggestion, and he made us a creme porketta sandwich. We got it to go, but after leaving the shop for a few minutes, we knew we needed a second one.....after order a second one, we couldn't leave without a third one to go lol. The first sandwich had toasted buns which were soft on the inside and crispy on the exterior, but the succulent pork on the inside was magnified by the delicious sauce he made. While there were no other components, the sandwich was honestly one of the best we ever had. Our second sandwich, was a cheesy delight. Angelo made the second sandwich a cheese one with melted cheese (the cheese seemed to be called Parmigiano-Reggiano but had a taste and texture similar to that of Brie). simple, elegant, and delicious. Our last sandwich (which made our train to Rome a spectacular trip) tasted similar of honey mustard, and was a bit sweet, but nothing overpowering, and like the two predecessors, very very delicious. If you go to Siena, do NOT have food regrets by missing this little shop. Not only is it cheap, it is very very delicious. read more

Absolutely amazing! This is the best sandwich i ever had even when comparing to the smoke meat sandwich from Shwartz in Montreal. Let me tell you how good it is. Initially we had our breakfast at hotel. We came and asked one sandwich (cream one) and a small portion of cheese to go first. We were eating it on the way. I had the first bite. The pork is a bit salty and well balanced with the yellow sauce. The sauce is a big vinegary and It balances off the pork. Btw, the owner Angelo blended the sauce fresh for every sandwich. It was so good that I didn't want to share with my husband. We decided to go back and get a second one with cheese. The second is even better. The owner made the cheese himself. You may think we should be full with 2 sandwich. Yes we were but we order a third one to go. That's how good it is. He also let us try the 10-year aged balsamic vinegar on bread. Woooow so good. I guess that why the first sandwich is so good. For those who read my reviews, sorry I didnot catch the name of the sandwich but I will share the picture. read more
