Since I moved back a year ago since evacuating for Katrina, I've had a hell of a time finding someone who can actually cut mens hair like a Pro. The biggest problem when it comes to mens hair stylist/barber is that 99% of them are limited in skills. What I mean by that is that some barbers are great with clippers and blade but can't style with shears. Some women are great with shears but can't edge with a blade.., and so forth. To make matters worst... Most hair stylist and barbers are cocky and see themselves on top of their game. They think they're the best and can't take constructive criticism or aren't happy when you ask for a style that requires skills outside their expertise. This guy Imad can shear, fade(clippers), edge(blade) and even thread(eyebrows). I'm not saying he's the BEST... But he's the best I've found in Kenner/Metairie/New Orleans area. I've been back in New Orleans for a year now and without exaggerating I've been to atleast 12 different barbers and stylist; spanish, black, arab, women, gay, etc...all limited in skill. Especially those franchise places like Sports Clips are the worst because they're not allowed to use blades. Imad is a well rounded barber and besides impressing me ... Sam was the lucky lady to cut my hair, trim my beard and give me a shave. She did an excellent job! There was no straight razor shave, but Just For Him do have the hot towels they put on your face before the shave. Sam is a great lady and it wasn't one of those places where you sit down, shut up and move your head where they want it to go. Sam took the time to ask if I liked the trim length and made sure the edges were straight and did an excellent job on the shave. Prices.. I do have to say, if you are used to barber shop prices then you will not get that here, but why not treat yourself every now and then. If you go to Sports Clip or a place like that, what are waiting for?! You should really think about giving this place a try. Sports on the tvs, a beer while you wait, and a great staff. When you walk inside, you can either relax on a nice comfortable chair, or have a seat at the bar inside while you wait. Want a cold beer, water, or other beverage while you wait? Because they offer it. There are individual flat screen televisions by every salon chair that allow you to watch your favorite sports channel or catch up on the news while you receive your haircut. The girls that do the cutting are pretty nice to look at as well, but the best part of the entire experience in my opinion is after the haircut when they wash your hair. It's not your normal experience, but basically a killer scalp massage with a hot steaming towel across your face. I walk in and there are two barbers, one with a client the other cleaning his clippers, they are both just staring at me. I tell them I have an appointment and one of them verifies my name and tells me to sit, he will be with me shortly. While I'm waiting I'm looking around. Place has old couches, two blank tv-less tv mounts, an empty fish tank, old pizza boxes on the desks, a million cups/bottles, football on the floor, PlayStation remote on couch. Just lacking order and cleanliness severely. I get called up and dialogue is minimal at best, which I don't mind really. Then I see one of the barbers bust a vape and take a hit right there.
