My children (ages 2 & 5) have attended daycare at WeeKare Childkare center since November 2010. Our…read moredaughter also attended preschool here this year, she had attended at another private facility prior to that. When she started, the staff helped her adapt quickly and she picked right up where the last school left off. She progressed very well and is well-prepared for Kindergarten, so I believe the preschool teachers at WeeKare are right on-par with most other preschool programs in our community. There is pickup / dropoff service available for the school-aged children, and children are eligible to attend before/after school care there until the age of 10. The kids are bussed in vans equipped with boosters and the drivers are all certified. They also transport to field-trip activities. The facility is always kept very neat and clean. There is plenty of space for the kids to eat and play, they nap on separate cots and have a separate attached bathroom right off the 2-year-old room (for potty training). There is an enclosed playground attached to the building. The adult-to-child ratio is excellent, never seems like the staff is overwhelmed, despite the fact that their jobs are pretty stressful in my opinion! Parking is sufficient, at peak dropoff / pickup times you may have to wait a maximum of a couple minutes for a spot but it is really not much of an issue. WeeKare's hours are awesome, they are open from 7 am - 7 pm, closed only for the 5 major holidays, and very rarely closed for inclement weather (a rare situation in Fargo!) I believe their part-time rates are quite flexible, although both my children attend full-time. When we go on vacation, they do require 1 weeks' notice, but we get a reduced rate when the kids are absent. After attending for 1 year, each child accrues a week of "paid time off". Their price structure is very similar to other centers in town, maybe even less expensive, considering what you get for your dollar here. To me, it is totally worth every penny having the peace of mind knowing my children are cared for in this kind of stable environment. The staff has overall been extremely patient, loving, down-to-earth and organized. The administration is friendly, communicative, and seem to be good people-managers because the staff does not appear to have a lot of turnover. Any issues (few if any in our time there) brought to their attention have been nipped in the bud immediately. The daily planned activities are educational and age-appropriate, and they hold lots of field trips for the preschool aged kids and outside time for everyone when the weather is nice. The field trips are about 1 per month for the 4+ kids, many of which are free of charge. Sometimes parents will be asked to provide a sack lunch or occasionally a minimal fee (usually $1 - $3), my daughter really looks forward to her fun field trips! I would have to say the biggest positive is the open communication between the staff and parents. I feel like they truly know what my kids are doing during the day there. The staff is great at spotting re-occuring behavior issues, and never hesitate to call me if there is a question about any out-of-the-ordinary behavior (potty accidents, lethargy, injuries, fighting, etc.) Parents receive daily reports about what the child ate for meals/snacks, # of diaper changes, activities performed, and other relevant information. If there is even a minor injury we receive a write-up about the incident - it's usually just 'kids being kids' kind of stuff, but it is still wonderful to know that they're keeping a watchful eye in those situations. We started attending based on positive recommendations from a couple of my colleagues, and I have recommended WeeKare to two of my close friends whose children now attend. I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend WeeKare to ANY parent. Overall, I have been over-the-moon about our experience at WeeKare: it's a working parents' dream!

I do not recommend bringing your child to this daycare. From the start, I was told I was not…read morefeeding my child enough by the "nurse" and Faith. My doctor even confirmed I was feeding him enough, as he was ahead of milestones and definitely growing along his curve. They do NOT know anything about breast milk/breastfeeding guidelines and won't listen if you try to explain to them. They stretched my son's stomach so bad in the short time he was there. He was absolutely miserable there. The way I saw Faith talk to other parents, as well as myself was very rude, condescending, and unprofessional. My boyfriend told her that we were no longer going to bring our son and she made comments to him about me such as: "She's just a first time mom. When she has another kid she will realize how ridiculous she is being." She also told me that when my child cries they will always offer a bottle. According to Faith, they will lose their license if they do not offer a bottle at least every 1.5 hours (even though he was on a schedule of every almost 3 hours before attending this daycare). Babies cry for MANY reasons besides being hungry. I'd consistently get calls that I need to pick up my child right away because he would not stop crying. She'd expect me to leave work immediately to get there and then tell me it is my fault that my child cries so much there. Deciding to leave this daycare has been GREAT! Since taking my child to a different daycare, he has been his happy self again. I'm glad the stress of Children of Hope is behind my family!
