This large shop is mainly a showroom presenting almost everything you would need or desire in a kitchen. They show and supply all of the large appliance brands. The brilliant thing about this shop is the owner who also deals with most of the customer orders. He really knows his stuff and can give you invaluable advice. We were ordering a few items at once but he easily switched his knowledge from ovens, to fridges, to sinks with ease. They arranged delivery and fitting of all the items with care and ease. After consulting the internet their prices are just as cheap as anywhere else.

It's pretty much everything electrical, ranging from ovens, fridges and washing machines to small appliances such as kettles, toasters and hair dryers. All of which are available to view at their showroom. The company has been family run for 25 years and they are really helpful and friendly. It is nice to actually have a conversation with someone in one of these shops without being bombarded with technical information and being pressurised to buy something. Prices are marginally higher than Curry's Digital, but you are getting a much more personal service. Bonus: they have heaps of off road parking (which if you are familiar with Gloucester Road is a real selling point!).

I certainly wouldn't usually consider buying spares or having anything repaired here. I'm far too fond of Bobs Best Electricals and Beacon Electronics to willingly take my trade anywhere else. If it weren't for the recommendation I'd been given by the chap from Bristol Tools, who suggested that I try Nailsea Electrical to see if they stocked belts for my old Hotpoint Twin Tub, then I would never have thought to pay them a visit. He of course, suggested that I tried Bob's Best and Beacon first, but I explained that I'd phoned them both already, and neither one of them had anything in stock. Sharing the same level of reservation that I had, he gingerly suggested going to Nailsea Electrical, on the basis that I had nothing to lose. Ben dealt efficiently with my enquiry, and quickly told me that Nailsea Electrical never keep old items like this is stock on the grounds that there is very little call for it. Consulting a large catalogue he continued by saying that they no longer made the belt that I was looking for. He broke the news apologetically and then turned his gaze back to the catalogue. Stabbing at the page with his index finger in a triumphant gesture he announced, "but this'll do it". He said it with such conviction that I was instantly convinced he was right, and so I ordered it on the spot. A few days later I got a call from the shop to tell me that it had arrived, and I called in a couple of days later to collect. I've been washing non-stop ever since!

One very burnt out component was removed and after a quick flick through the yellow pages he called into these guys to see if they could help. The man behind the counter took a quick look and managed to locate a used one and said try this for free. It will either work or if it doesn't its going to be £60.00 for a new one and if needed I can get it in a couple of days. It worked so result. We have used them for a couple of things not just for washing machines since then and the service has always been as good as the first time so this place is highly recommended.

No, the prices aren't quite…read morewhat you'll find online - although believe me, they're usually pretty close - but the service is outstanding. Not only is the proprietor extremely knowledgable about his stock - able to quote you chapter and verse about the pros and cons of anything you might be thinking of buying - but all of the staff are very helpful and obliging. Local delivery is both flexible and cheap (occasionally the fee is waived completely if you live very close) and I've never had a single cause for complaint. If you've got a cooker, washing machine, tumble dryer, vacuum cleaner or similar that's on the blink and out of warranty come here before you think about throwing it away. A1 seem to be able to get most parts for most things, and may well have the know-how to repair the item themselves. The last item I purchased from here was a halogen cooker; it was about £10 more than I would have paid online but worked out cheaper when delivery costs are figured into the equation. I've never had a moment's trouble with the cooker, but I'm absolutely confident that if I do, the staff at A1 will be as helpful as ever. Highly recommended.

It is a bit pricy, but sometimes it's worth paying more for quality cotton sheets are always better in my eyes. They do tend to have special offers on though so keep your eyes open for bargains and they also sell seconds. Upstairs they sell material on rolls so if recovering furniture or making your own curtains is your thing then you'll be quite happy. Ample parking clean toilets and a nice little coffee shop. Good all rounder
