We hired him immediately after meeting him as we did not want to deal with the insurance companies at all which turned out to be so worthwhile. In anticipation of possible issues with an out of state claim, he networked at a conference in DC and made a business connection with another attorney just in case we had to file anything in Maryland. Our cost to him wouldn't have increased had we hired a second attorney so that made me feel comfortable about what could happen. This made me feel even more confident in his abilities to represent our case since it was out of state. Fortunately, we did not have to file a lawsuit in Maryland so that saved us another 2 years of waiting to settle. Overall, we were pleased with his work and would refer him to anyone needing representation for a car accident. The case took about 3 years to settle but that was because we had to go through medical treatment and weren't in any rush to settle. Usually people wait until they are ready to settle before they retain counsel so we jumped the gun a bit but not having to talk to an adjuster was worth the contingency that Steven collected upon our settlement. It took the lawyers forever to follow up, and I would get excuses every time we would speak. They initiated a plan for me to get the best care and the best insurance claim possible but that was not the case. I ended up paying the majority of my settlement in bills, from being instructed by the lawyers at this firm to attend several health professional classes which racked up thousands of dollars in medical bills, without any consideration of what I would have to endure in the long run. The bills was negotiated with my settlement at a low amount and in the end after the bills was payed from the settlement I was left with nothing, still needing future medical care and having nothing to help myself financially for having future and current problems . The secretaries were very rude and did not follow up on time, and would get attitudes when you would mention there unprofessionalism. This office even took 30% of my settlement for doing nothing.It took my claim 2.5 years for nothing, and with all the misinformation, bad litigation, and unprofessionalism, you would have thought they would have been courteous and not take so much due to bad planning and litigation having there client liable for so much in the end. I will never recommend this law firm. My advice find an office that actually care, and has a legit plan so you can come out in the end to help you and your family. I explained to her that I was a part of another local union and was having trouble with my union rep. I told her I was seeking a consultation that I would pay for out of pocket. I explained my case to her that told her that Alex was personally recommended to me by a friend who was a labor union president for Boeing for 30 years. After explaining my situation, the secretary told me that "they would definitely want to talk to me." I told her that even if they couldn't help me, if they could provide a name of someone they would recommend. She said the lawyers were "very self-sufficient and knew a lot of other lawyers even if they couldn't help me." I waited two weeks and called again. I spoke to the same secretary who was a total b*tch. She told me, rather abruptly and rudely, that "I needed to be patient." I told her I'd already waited two weeks and asked her how long she suggested I wait. She, of course, didn't have a response. I asked her to send another message to him. Six weeks from the first call and I still haven't heard anything. Clearly not a group of lawyers who are willing to help or even care about the employee.
