At an out-of-the area store about an hour from where I live in San Francisco, I happened to be with a friend shopping and saw some nice-looking tee-shirts that really appealed to me. The material used was extremely soft and I liked it immediately. I purchased three of these shirts and practically wear them everyday now. Of the three, I've worn two already and washed them several times, and the third I just put on a few days ago for the very first time. While outdoors, because I was in a sunny area, there were a lot of flies and mosquitos flying around. I kept feeling something on the back of my upper arm and when I finally bothered to take a look, I discovered to my shock there was a long unraveled thread from within the left sleeve of the tee shirt! I am so disappointed, especially when I was even thinking of taking a short foto trip to near where I picked up these shirts, and to make a side-trip to buy more. Now I am so disappointed; I have tweeted the company online but after no reply after a few days, I understand not every company or even person maintains an active watch over social media accounts. So after a few more days, I found the company's website and emailed them directly. After still a few more days no answer again and now, even if they offered an expense-paid trip to Montreal to visit the factory, I wouldn't accept.
How many times do I have to repeat? A company, cafeteria, restaurant may offer a fantastic product, dish or drink, or aservice BUT if an employee or a certain service is lacking, then your product might as well be trash. So it is in this case as their client relations is crap! Such a shame!
UPDATE 30Oct: A few weeks ago when a fellow tweeter mentioned their sorry state of affairs, I commented of my being ignored by Gildan abt the faulty tee-shirts I bought. I got a tweet-reply which I replied to but never heard back (again). After a week I again tweeted that they ignored me for months. I finally got an email from Sarah Stafford of the South Carolina factory who wanted to see a pix (sent) then asked I return them (at my own cost). I did and am now getting a replacement (not arrived yet). If you buy from this company be sure to keep your receipt and watch for any defects to pop up later as did happen to me. Their customer support is NOT good at all. Two months in tending to their customers is NOT good! I know I will never buy another Gildan tee no matter how comfortable and soft it is. read more
