I'm not from Okeechobee but I brought my Silverado in for a service. I was told that the upper control arms needed to be replace, I asked for the take-offs. Once I picked up my Silverado I discovered my upper control arms and ball joints were in perfect condition, I have Cognito upper control arms and ball joints. I went back and spoke to the shop foreman, Cody Price, who told me that the ball joints needed replacement, but since the dealership never uses after market parts, the upper control arms needed to be replaced. I pointed out a Silverado in the service area that I know is waiting on Kypronite front end parts and asked why that is. Cody Price told me that the owner of that Silverado lives in Okeechobee so the dealership uses after market parts for him but not for me because I don't live in Okeechobee, FL. I then explained that my Silverado has a leveling kit and the Cognito upper control arms are necessary for proper tire alignment since they're a little longer. He then told me that the Dealership installs after market leveling kits all the time and never had a problem. I told him that my Silverado is pulling hard to the left and again he stated Gilbert Chevy will install after market leveling kits, but only for Okeechobee resident. I was discriminated against because I don't live in Okeechobee. I thought all GM dealerships treat people the same. Cody Price was very rude and unjustly cost me approx $1,5000.00. read more

This past weekend a computer chip/board went kaflooie on a Saturday night some 3.5 hours from home. Long story short, Sunday I was able to get the vehicle transported to Gilbert Chevrolet, whose service department was closed. Monday, when Gilbert's opened, Amanda, the Service Advisor contacted me, I explained the situation, Amanda had the service department correctly diagnose the issue, and by Tuesday the truck was fully repaired. Where the vehicle was past the warrenty date, I had to pay for the repair out of pocket, which I was glad to do given the excellent service provided by Gilbert's. So I happily returned home. Very much to my surprise, Amanda contacted me with the great news that although being told initially by GM that because of the age of our vehicle, they would not cover the cost of the replacement of the computer chip/board, but some wrangling, Amanda was able to get GM to cover the cost of the repair! I took my car here because it's still under warranty they took 25 days to fix it.. Never once called to let me know what was going on. When I would call the customer service person named Marsha would screen the call and not deliver and massages.. when I finally got my car back the had left bolts missing and oil leak that left me with no oil. So once more I took it back and again they took 3wks to get it done and once more never called me to inform me of what was going on or give an update... Having a real tough time with this dealership right now. We had to return our vehicle for the second time for tranny problems. The first time we were given a rental that we had for a month. When we got our vehicle back within 6 days it had to be returned for problems with the transmission. This time no rental. Obviously it will take around a month to repair the vehicle. Problem is , and the dealership knows, our family has had a christmas trip to Alabama planned for months. Now we have to get our own rental because they have left us stranded. It is my hope that this can be resolved before christmas amd i can return and change this review. read more

While in town on vacation, the engine light came on in my 2015 Suburban. I took the truck to Gilbert Chevrolet's service department early the next morning, hoping to just get some information on what was wrong, not expecting to be able to get the truck in that day. However, I needed to get to St Pete that night. I spoke with Kim Vinson, who sent me to Sheila Yates to see if we could find the part the correct part. However, we couldn't find it. She sent me to James Sarros. James was very accommodating and looked up the codes and determined what needed to be done. I explained that I needed to be in St Pete that evening, so he immediately got me in the schedule to complete the service. They also did an inspection and found a minor oil leak in the pan. James had indicated that it might take several hours to complete the work. I was happy that it was in the queue at all! He later came to find me to tell me that they had a loaner car for me for free, if I wanted. Wow! I never expected that! Patty Watts was very helpful and took care of all the paperwork quickly. I got a call maybe an hour later that my truck was all fixed, including an oil change. The bill was considerably less that I expected. In summary, I want to thank the entire service staff at Gilbert for the exceptional service that I received, with special thanks to James, who went way above and beyond anything I have ever experienced at a dealership.
