My littlest wanted me to go on a yeti hunt when visiting Salt Lake, and while I didn't have time for that, I did find a couple stuffed yetis here to take back. They were about $18 each and are pretty cute. The shop also has cool magnets, apparel, huckleberry treats, and other local products. The staff was friendly as well. I explained to him that my daughter watched the Rudolph Christmas a little too early and has always been afraid of abominable snowmen, and they assured me that once they have this stuffie, they'll be more comfortable with it. That was my thinking as well. Anywho, fun spot to pop in to if you're bopping around downtown Salt Lake.

The cashier was very polite and welcoming, and I felt like I paid a decent price per item. The shop is downtown and centrally located by many hotels. It's a fairly large store and they had quite a selection of souvenirs. It is also very bright and makes looking around a nice experience. Over the years I have found shopping for souvenirs exhausting. They truly had a wide enough variety of merchandise that made it fun to look around. My Utah favorite was the SL,UT shirt. After all the years of collecting "stuff" from the different places that we've visited, it has come down to one "shot" glass per trip. I must admit, this shop had the biggest collection of reasonably priced shot glasses I've see in a long time. Cara is the owner and a very delightful young lady. The shop is new and I hope these nice reviews that she is getting will help business especially since people are beginning to travel more and stay in the states.

We had a nice little chat about the Capital and our travels. She insisted I use the change from the dish so I didn't end up with a pocket of change. Very nice. Here in Salt Lake City, it seems that all of these gems are packed into a compound just off State Street in South Salt Lake. You'll know you have arrived by the large structure that you drive under to get into the parking lot. You'll find plenty of restaurants, a few other retails shops, a bunch of arcade games and a bakery or two. The main attraction is the supermarket, which I reviewed separately. If you're here just for that, give yourself a few minutes to browse other things as well-you won't regret it. My only complaint is that the parking can be really horrible. It's a good problem-that means there are lots of people visiting, but it would be nice if you didn't have to circle the lot to find a space.
