I asked the man at the watch repair place and he said to go to Chatswood Westfield and there was a place I could get it done. Close to the entrance on Anderson Street, Schneider's sells a small variety of jewelry, clocks and watches, but also does repair (which looks like the main portion of their business). It took a couple of days to repair the necklace, but when I got it back it was just as good as new. They did a good job, but it was a little pricey for what needed to be done. I'm sure there are other places in the city that are less expensive, but if you are in the Chatswood area, Schneider's does a good job for both jewelry and watch battery repair.

Each time I've taken something for repair be it a broken chain, a broken watch or just something that needs a good clean I've gotten something back that looks like new. The prices for repairs are reasonable too. The only word of warning is that the turn around isn't quick but for the quality of the service I can forgive that.
