Had very little time to stop and putz around as we had plans THAT evening. But I said you know what? There could be some really great finds at this thrift store. So... I decided to completely throw off our entire itinerary and ruin our evening by blowing at least an hour and a half rummaging through musty second-hand clothing in a strange town we'd never heard of before. And I'm pretty glad I did. Upon walking in there was a pretty cluttered, haphazard housewares/general merch section with a lot of old suitcases and stuff that was luring me in pretty hard. Good selection of old sunglasses and there was an old, cheesy looking watch I wanted but it didn't work and I didn't feel like fussing with it. Book selection was okay. The clothing selection was kinda slim pickin's, but I did find a pretty old, worn out-looking red button-down shirt and they did have a bunch of marching band uniforms, which I wavered over for quite a while (in fact, that was probably what took up the bulk of my time there). In the end, I passed on the uniforms but did buy a couple of Mantovani LPs which were in okay condition and a 1990s Casio keyboard which doesn't work, and will probably sit in the trunk of my car for the next five years. Oh, and my girlfriend and I were officially broken up all the way from Elmira until about twenty minutes outside of Buffalo because she was pretty pissed. P.S. Totally started to regret not buying one of the marching band uniforms about ten minutes after we left. Live and learn.

The service wasn't as great as I would have liked. They had multiple people trying to deal with one customer while a large line formed at the check out.

No where did it state any different. We arrived at 4:54pm and yes I know it's cutting it close but alas they pulled the ole "I'm not being here after 5pm card" and closed early. Yeah I can get it maybe in the restaurant business but in retail? I'll be good tho but prolly won't return. -5 for the yelp review. Sorry not sorry.

Clothes, books, jewelry, kitchenware, decor, purses, pet items and more. It's located on the main drag in Watkins Glen nestled among other stores. Prices are reasonable and I felt good supporting a non-profit. The staff is all volunteer and the woman at check out was friendly and happy to chat about the organization. I have sold a fair amount of my daughters clothing here and opt for store credit rather than cash- then I use the credit to buy whatever she's in need of- most recently dancewear and a rain jacket. Mama Goose carries new & used shoes, baby gear like strollers and cribs, seasonal clothing, gifts, maternity clothing as well as books and toys. I love this little shop and try to stop in every time I'm in Ithaca.
