We were impressed with her work (mainly how well she managed the guests) on the day, and our initial impression was confirmed when we saw the photos come in. We booked her for both an engagement shoot and the actual wedding. Neither my wife nor I are particularly good at taking photos. We have a hard time taking ourselves seriously, and were a bit nervous about a long photo session. Danielle made us feel relaxed and freed us to have fun with the photo shoot. She gave us pointers about how to feel and look natural while she was snapping away. She has a great eye for picking out good locations and backdrops. Even locations we were a bit skeptical about came out very well. This gave us even more confidence in her abilities going into the big day. On the wedding day itself she captured all the key points, some touching and beautiful moments, positioned herself so she could capture those moments without really being noticed by us or the guests, and we like to think she had a good time while doing it. I was very impressed with her. The downside...we're on day eight after our photo session and we have yet to receive our photos. Both time's we've been here, it's taken over the expected amount of time to get our photos back. We've got a first birthday party that I wanted to have invites out for...by this week, but it's Saturday and I'll not have the chance to get them printed and in the mail now until next week. That's extremely upsetting. Then when you get them, you only have seven days to download them all before your gallery expires...that's stupid. This company needs to use a different gallery if it's too much to store them a little longer. Update: I just called the store and asked when I'd be getting the photos. She said she could have them sent out in two hours. I'd say...they haven't even been edited or uploaded yet. It's been eight days. Their website says to expect two days for the online gallery...as much as I love the photographer/owner and the backgrounds, I can't use these guys again because other companies can give me the same or better quality in less time.

With some photographers, you get a shutter-pusher (sorry if that's harsh). With Phillip, you get a creative visionary and true collaborator. He's meticulous and deliberate about the shots that he takes - there's nothing cookie cutter about his work, and he can truly do anything (weddings, product photography, high fashion, you name it). He's also a creative to the bone and wonderful at giving feedback before and during a shoot. Choosing a photographer is all about finding the style that you want. Phillip's style is one-of-a-kind and has an ethereal quality to it. Many of his shots feel like something between art and photography. Look at his portfolio. It's possible that his style isn't for you, but if it is, you won't find a better photographer to execute on it.
