Dr. Gibbons helped me immensely. Dr. Gibbons is very intelligent, & he did not run unnecessary tests.

Dr Carolyn Dawn Guarino orginally of Cincinati and now of Westerville, is a very knowledgeable,…read morepersonable, and caring doctor. I cannot give her enough glowing accolades. It was a pleasure to have known her. My wife and I still want her for our doctor even after all that listed below. I do not know about the other doctors in the Beechwold Family Practice, but only speak of what I know first hand, the terrible office staffers of lying Liz the receptionist and atrocious Abby of Athena. In spite of those facts, her office staff - Liz the receptionist and Abby the office manager make every effort to chase away Dr Guarino's patients with their bad manners, poor public relations and business practices. I am sure this carries over the other doctor's patients as well as I have read their remarks on line. I was not the only one with this opinion. They lie about scheduled appointments, fire patients for having missed said appointments that they were not scheduled or notified of the day before and charge twice the going rate for a missed appointment or $40, but that is only the beginning of errors. After being fired as a patient for a missed appointment that I was not cognizant of, they did hold a grudge against not just me and transposed their angst to my wife, who was in dire medical need for a painful condition called SHINGLES. After I called Liz the receptionist, she made an appointment for my wife on a Fri at 2pm that very day. She then realized I was the patient who was fired and she rescheduled the appointment for my wife FIVE days later, which I accepted, as we don't own a car, and have no where else for my wife to go. She was amazed that I planned to have my wife keep this appointment. Now visualize if you will your wife having a red rash, that leaked from white blisters that later became a bloody mess from her left ear to her chin. She was in extreme pain. Liz knew this very well, but said she could not give to her the appointment she had just made, as she had not been seen in six months and could not go against the doctors orders. Dr Guarion would never punish a patient for not having been there in six months, expecially if they were seriously ill. Meanwhile, I diagnosed singles in time for her proper treatment as an EMT-A, she should have been seen that day, gotten pain meds and an anti-viral injection within 24 to 48 hours to prevent it from becoming worse or returning. This medical problem can go to your face, as it did for my wife, it can go to your eyes and affect your vision, which it did not, and it can leave scars for life, which my wife now has, but that is not all. It can leave you with a life of intense pain that is not curable. Can you say medical feasance, misfeasance and malfeasance? Now any doctor's office can fire a patient as they did me, for any reason they want, real or imagined, but they did not fire my wife when they fired me, but agreed to see her and make her suffer 5 days more. Liz and Abby think they are Goddesses and immune from public opinion, but they are not even demi-godessess, but are narcissists with a goddess complex, who victimize the sick and poor victims in obvious and extreme pain. Now my lovely wife has an ugly scar from ear to chin, which she cannot hide with makeup. Luckily, she does not have intense pain, but it did not all go away, nor did it affect her vision and make her blind. But now she is ugly, because of their feasance, misfeasance and malfeasance. I wish I could find an attorney to take this case to court. Except for Dr Carolyn Dawn Guarino, whom I highly esteem, I would not advise patronizing this family practice, but would suggest going to a family practice whose office staff are kind, courteous and responsible for the patients welfare, care and concerns. After searching the internet, I did find another family practice for Dr Carolyn D Guarino at 1492 E Broad St, with a phone of 257-3560, but I do not know if it is current. I do highly recommend her, but not her family practice office staff at 4808 N High St. After you have spent thousands of dollars on treatments, meds, and such, as I and my wife did, to have to quit in the middle of your treatment regime and bring a new doctor up to speed with over 200 pages of medical files in one year alone is a daunting task. I sincerely hope that Liz and Abby get SHINGLES and suffer as much as my wife did, then only to be denied medical service for severe pain for FIVE days and be denied a anti-viral injection, which would have alleviated or eliminated the problem and then be left with terrible scars for life. Now that would be justice. Take me to court if you will, but you will only sully your ownn bad reputation worse than now, and even more. I look forward to that chance, that day in court, to ruin your professional ability to work as you do not deserve the chance to work as a dog warden with your lack of compassion and professionalis

I missed the call from my awesomely concerned family doctor who had already reviewed my ER records despite the fact that it was a holiday and she was supposed to be relaxing. She wanted to have me come in for a follow-up exam. Since I didn't recognize the number and my voicemail box was jammed full, I didn't know I was supposed to go in. But on Thanksgiving, in the evening, when I relapsed into that toxic pain and shaking, my family called Dr. Rentel. She was there, and she had advice. She got me through the night and saw me first thing Monday. This is the most compassionate doctor. I love her to pieces. She has her patients' best interest in mind. She really cares about your health. And she's funny and easy to talk to. I have high praise for Dr. Rentel. If you're looking for a new family doctor, definitely try to get in with her. It will be tough. Since she's so amazing, she's always booked full. But if you happen to call the office when they're taking new patients, you musn't undervalue the opportunity. Jump on it! Dr. Rentel is the best.

They sent me away with anxiety meds. Needless to say, I didn't take them and went to see Dr. Rentel the following Monday. By chance, I was assigned to her when I was a student at OSU in the student health department. She asked me if I had allergies, to which I replied NO. She took a good look at me and said, "Yes you do." She gave me oral steroids and within 24 hours my breathing issues were totally resolved. Turns out, I have a severe grass pollen allergy that developed as an adult and procudes asthma. I'm now taking allergy shots to help build a tolerance to my allergies and symptoms. I wasn't crazy afterall!

I recommend her to you because she is very professional and not at all intimidating, if anything she seems a little shy. I visited her before and after the office changed locations and I would give her 5 stars. The office gets only 4. The office has recently moved up Olentangy River Road from down near Grandview to up between Bethel and Henderson. With the move came a couple of issues that I am sure will be worked out eventually: 1. Although it is in a plaza with other relevant medical offices, this plaza is very hard to get to without a car. It isn't their fault that there are no sidewalks...I just wish they didn't move from their convenient location. It is the reason I chose them in the first place, to be honest. This only became a problem when the office forgot some of my lab tests and I had to come back into the office a couple times in one week. 2. The new phlebotomist is fantastic. She was a pro at drawing blood with no pain! Unfortunately, there was a miscommunication between the lab and the office because I had to come in twice to re-draw blood. Hopefully this gets worked out once they settle in. On the positive side, the office is much bigger and my waiting time was very minimal. The staff seem very positive and willing to take suggestions. The medical assistant who called me was very apologetic when the office forgot my tests and my blood samples went to waste.

I had an 8:45 AM telehealth appointment for an important prescription refill that I need to function, but Dr. Toohey was over 10 minutes late, which I didn't mind as I know she is busy. When she finally joined, and despite me saying "One second I'm pulling over right now", she immediately said we couldn't proceed because I was driving, ignored me, and abruptly ended the call within 10 seconds of joining - with 0 patience or willing to listen or care. It was very hurtful. When I reached out via message to ask what just happened and that I am pulled over now and ready, she responded by terminating me as a patient via letter. Her attitude throughout was condescending, rude, and disrespectful.
