Great Service. Better than the pharmacy chains. Small but efficient. Friendly, caring personal.

I truly dread coming to this CVS or really any CVS for that matter and to a degree it amazes me…read morethat the chain is so popular because honestly the customer service is poor and the staff always moves like they're filming a Mannequin Challenge video. Me personally, it's always for something random like a birthday card, or BOGO cashews, or fifty cent Arizona iced tea cans. * If you need a scrips filled late this is not a 24 hour location. Pharmacy stops at nine on weekdays and at six on weekends which is fairly consistent for this area where retailers have yet to figure out that people need prescription strength medicine after sunset. * The newish location here is much better/bigger than the prior location on West Broad Street. * Unless you get a deal with CVS Bucks/Rewards/Coupons/a Secret Handshake the pricing here in general is very high. * Normally only one person on the front registers and a lot of times they're handling photo orders, answering the phone and taking far too many coupons/rewards/bucks/handshakes so as to make the line intolerably long. I also can't forget to mention usually BS-ing with everyone they know since the average age that works the register is north of sixty and the average age of the clientele is fairly close and apparently are in here quite often. My favorite from last week while waiting in line was a conversation between the cashier and a friend (?) of hers about generic cashews being better than name brand while talking about which hemorrhoid cream works best. This store has everything you would expect it to have just add the expectations of wait in a line at checkout, experiencing the slowest card chip readers in retail while likely paying more for the I suppose convenience of having everything from a Xanax scrip to a toilet brush to a bag of butterscotch candy all under one roof.

My doctor sent in a valid, brand new refill order for my pain meds. They transferred it to the 8th Ave. Store who then promptly refused to fill it. They told me that I had to get another new prescription which the Doctor would not issue because CVS is CVS to him (and me). So a week has gone by and no pain pills. I have now transferred everything to Walmart. CVS loses out on my $6,000 worth of meds every year. No wonder they are having revenue problems.

If I could give it zero stars, I would. On Sunday, January 12th at approximately 12:05AM, my…read morehusband went to thisstore after I specifically had a televisit with a doctor for a medical issue that required antibiotics. We chose to pay 69 dollars for this televisit through Jefferson Health because I was very sick and needed medication right away. We also chose to go this route because on the website we saw that store #5715 was open 24 hours, including the pharmacy. My husband headed to the store only to discover upon arrival, a sign saying they were closed, pharmacy only open from 8am - 10pm and the store only open until midnight. And this went into effect starting on December 22nd! This store is a 26 minute drive (8.5 miles) away from my home. So you can imagine the major inconvenience. This brings me to my major point: NOWHERE ON THE WEBSITE OR THE STORE PHONE ANSWERING SERVICE DID IT SAY THE DIFFERENCE IN HOURS! We chose to do what we did for my health based on the fact that I could get the antibiotic from this "open pharmacy" that same night. If I knew they were closed, I would have waited to go to an Express Care and paid 49 dollars less to see a doctor in person. Plus we wasted time and gas in our car driving all the way to the store just to find out it was closed. It cost me time and money.

Something has changed at this Walgreens' location--staff was super friendly!…read more Though most convenient, this has not been my favorite Walgreens to patronize. Mostly because staff has historically been indifferent at best, downright rude at worst. Recently, however, on two separate occasions, I've found staff members--including at least one manager--to be warm, friendly, and helpful. On the first occasion, discounts from my Walgreens' rewards weren't reflecting on my bill. This is not unusual, as it seems to happen frequently at all businesses that use rewards. Oftentimes, employees get frustrated and flustered (as do the people in the growing lines behind me) and employees get mad at me, as if it's my fault. The manager was called over and calmly remedied the issue, including calling a second cashier to handle other customers. On the second occasion, I must admit I was in a bad mood, so when the sale item I wanted wasn't on the shelf (even though the online system said it should have been), I was annoyed. The young man stocking shelves was, unfortunately for him, the first employee I encountered. In my scariest mom voice, I asked why the items that were supposed to be there were not. He used his handheld gizmo and said there should be more in the back and went to check. I wanted two, he came back with one, and apologized for the computer system being wrong. I immediately felt guilty because, of course, it wasn't his fault and this intelligent young man killed me with kindness. I thanked him, he told me to have a nice day, and I apologized for being crabby. He accepted my apology with grace. A new Walgreens, indeed.
