Lea's Floral Shop - My floral centerpiece for a table

Lea's Floral Shop

I ordered flowers online from this shop's website for someone who is staying in a nearby hospital…read more I selected "designer's choice" because I figured it was the safest way to get a nice arrangement from whatever they had available. My sister sent me a photo of the flowers - I was extremely disappointed. They look like something you could get in a grocery store for a LOT less money (carnations and dyed daisies), stuffed into a cheap vase, with no design at all. And the color - dark blues and purples for a Get Well arrangement??? Looked funereal! With several other florist shops in the area, I would definitely not use them again.

Lea's Floral Shop was founded several decades ago. The shop used to be located at a slightly…read moredifferent address, but a couple of years ago, a fire destroyed that shop. As a result, the business owners built a brand-new building that is located nearby and recently opened. My family has been buying flowers from Lea's Floral Shop for many years, and I myself have placed a couple of orders here. Most recently, I ordered corsages, boutonnières, and floral centerpieces for my in-laws' 50th wedding anniversary party. About two months before the party, I emailed Lea's Floral Shop to ask about their required lead time for an order. About 2 hours later, an employee replied that she needed about 2 weeks of advance notice. About one month later, I emailed Lea's Floral Shop again to order 4 corsages, 6 boutonnières, and 2 table centerpieces. I requested certain colors and asked for the employees to select the types of flowers. Two days later, the employee responded with prices. I asked her to put the order into her system for a specific pickup time. On the day of the pickup, I accidentally told my GPS to take me to McKeesport rather than East McKeesport, and I ended up at the wrong address. Make sure that you travel to *East McKeesport*! The building looked nice and new. Many parking spaces were available behind the building. Entrances were on the front and side of the building. A few other customers had arrived earlier, so my husband and I waited for several minutes. An employee took a couple of minutes to find our flowers in the refrigerated area. My husband used his credit card to pay about $353. At my in-laws' party, I attached the corsages and boutonnières to them and their wedding-party members. The corsages had a velcro strap that fit well around the women's wrists. The boutonnières pinned easily to the men's shirts. The floral centerpieces were an appropriate size for the tables. All of the flowers looked fresh, smelled good, and had colors that matched the party's theme.

Stopped in the other day and ordered a bouquet of flowers for my son to give to his girlfriend…read more Picked them up today. There was a little confusion finding the finished flowers, but whatever, things happen. Dan seems to be a personable fellow, and he did give me a military discount, so that was nice. The bouquet was...okay. Certainly big enough for $75...but in my opinion it just didn't appear as fresh as it should have been. That was a little disappointing, and my son noticed it as well without my prompting him. I didn't really notice it initially at the store, but given the day's time constraints there wasn't much to do about it once I really looked at them at home. I saw some good reviews for the shop, and that spurred my trying them (my old florist closed shop). My son's disappointment was what's most disconcerting.

I have to honestly say how extremely disappointed I am with this shop after being told how amazing…read morethis local florist is. I went in today to get a gift for our boss and I had my kids with disabilities with me. And I have never been treated so disrespectfully nor have they. As soon as I walked in, all I wanted to do was look around since I have never been there before and I wanted to make sure our boss had the perfect gift including flowers. When I told the man behind the counter that we were just looking around real quick, he looked at my kids with disabilities, rolled his eyes and said "are you fucking kidding" me under his breath. I brushed that off because he was attending to a floral arrangement and I was hoping that he was talking about that but then later on I realized he was talking about me and my kids. When we were looking at items one of my kids went to look at one of the pieces on the table and he yelled at her and said don't touch that because I don't want you to break anything. First of all, why have it on display for somebody to look at? And second of all there's a tactful way to talk to people with disabilities. Very hurt, My one kid asked me what she did wrong and I had to just explain to her that sometimes people don't understand how to treat people that have special needs because they have no patience. I would never recommend this florist to anybody if you can't deal with somebody who's innocent in this world and didn't ask to have disabilities then you yourself are the lowest piece of scum. I wish I can give this business establishment zero Stars!

When the recipient received the flowers, they were not the flowers which were ordered. If you cannot deliver the product that is ordered, then you should be notified of the change! I do understand that some flowers are unexpectedly unavailable but the ordered product should look the same except for the substituted flowers. I ordered a short square vase with small purple roses and daisies with a purple/white polka doted ribbon and upgraded to deluxe. Not complicated! But what was delivered was.....Tall, round vase, large dark pink ribbon, large pink roses with large daisies and finally pine boughs! Now....does that sound the same? When I was reviewing my options, I did see a similar product but I did not think it was a good fit for the situation. I was sending the floral gift because someone dear to me lost a baby and I wanted something to cheer her up and not look like funeral flowers and her favorite color is purple! So, the arrangement mattered! I usually used FTD florist but I chose Teleforist because they had what I wanted. I called Teleforist and they offered 20% back but I still did not get the product I ordered! I will never use them again! I specifically chose Shackelford's and Maxwell as the floral arranger because of their reputation. I am extremely dissatisfied! It is like ordering a shirt and getting a pair of pants! Would you be satisfied?
