The Desk Agent was not too hopeful that I'd find anything for dinner at that hour and directed me toward Chinatown. I spotted this place along the way and was glad I did. The staff were quite friendly and accommodating. I was hungry and opted for the Mixed Grill Schotel, which I chose to eat there. The facility was basic and not elegant but was clean and well kept. My dinner was very tasty and I had enough to take away for another meal. The value was quite good. With drink, my total bill was less than €15. I was happy with this deal. I'll look for this place again if I'm in central Antwerp.

Service was a little cold but I think that's a European thing vs American expectations, so I'm not mad about it. Service is faster than most European, sitdown restaurants. Both times, the food was tasty. The last time I was there, Dec 2021, when we walked in as a party of 5, being seated was a little chaotic, a man was yelling at someone else (in a language I don't speak) I'm not sure what they were saying. It seemed like they were discussing where we should sit. But once we sat, we ordered & received our food. After that it was hard to get anyone's attention to get additional items. But, they are open late & on holidays, which is the primary reason we went. We would probably go again given a similar situation.

Antwerp has many falafel restaurants in the area and we have yet to try them all, however the falafels at Finjan really satisfy our cravings when we are in the mood for some. The first time we were there, I had ordered the shakshuka plate and man, it was simply bursting with flavors. Their salads are delicious and fresh and we are also addicted to their fried halumi cheese sticks. What we also love about this establishment is a variety of sauces that are made fresh and taste absolutely delicious while being the perfect complement to their entrées. Gosh, just typing this review is making me hungry and making me want to go back, which I am sure will happen in the very near future.
