However, after discussing the problem I was coming in for with the front office person, the person suggested I come in the next day. She considered the underlying health risks and the current situation knew it would be more detrimental to wait. Upon arriving to the appointment the next day, the staff were kind and respectful. They were efficient, friendly demeanors and all wearing smiles at 8:15 in the morning. Dr. Rockett himself was very professional and straightforward. He was very informative of what was going on, how the treatment would go, and what precautions I needed to take. I was very happy with the treatment plan and his bedside manner. Dr. G has been a practicing Podiatrist since 1988. He was originally with MacGregor Medical Group when I first became his patient. For those who have been in Houston a long time, you'll recall that MacGregor was a 12-clinic system associated with The Methodist Hospital System (similar to how Kelsey-Seybold is with St. Luke's) that closed in 2002. Dr. G has seem me and my immediate family for various foot ailments, multiple avulsion fractures, custom orthotics, and surgeries to remove foreign objects from our feet. Dr. G is very personable and provides excellent care. I have personally referred many people to him over the years and now I am referring him to you. In my opinion, you can always tell what type of person a physician is based upon the amount of turnover you see with his staff. Dr. G and Dr. Briggs have had the same basic staff for years with very little turnover. To me, that speaks volumes about the docs. Appointment Tip: You can call Texas Gulf Coast Medical Group to schedule an appointment but I have found it easier to call the Podiatry Department directly and speak to Jennifer. I was given series of steroid injections, (7) was given shoe insert and orthotics and I was still in agony and pain. I was referred by someone who have had a heel spur and he have seen Dr. Mark Moss. He was given two steroids injections and when the injections failed, he was scheduled for surgery with great success. As I made an appointment with Dr. Moss I was greeted with his friendly professional staff and was taken on time to the back to see the doctor. Some X-rays were taken of my foot and shortly after I was greeted by Dr. Moss I explained my history and he gave me a few options and we agreed that surgery would be the best option and was scheduled to follow through with surgery. I found an orthopedic surgeon, who referred me for nerve decompression, which was partially successful-then a total ankle replacement a year later. During the replacement, the orthopedic surgeon found the ligament (that Dr Rockett tightened ?) was severely stretched and there was no support at all in the ankle.
