Spookiness

Now I'm normally a food reviewer but I just had such a good time on this ghost tour I had to write a review! Our guide was lance and he was very entertaining and great at his job. He was friendly and genuine and hilarious. Everything about this tour was just right! Good amount of walking but not too much. Just the right amount of spooky. A little history but not boring. This is a great activity to do in Charleston it's tons of fun and a good way to see the city! I will say the website says this tour is R rated and I can confirm it is R rated.

With Carlos the ghost! And new friends from Brooklyn on the left.

Lance, was very entertaining and knowledgeable. He gives you time for questions and keeps you laughing. Notice*** this is for adults. If you are easily offended or squeamish, choose another tour. ( but it won't be as good) The history alone is worth the tour. The way Lance tells it is just a bonus. Don't forget to tip your guide!

Covid positive test will not let us cancel

Spoke to the owner and a representative on the phone 2 days in a row trying to cancel the tour due to COVID. Owner insisted that there was no other option other than for us to not receive a refund or go on the tour. Unfortunately for us and for everyone on the tour. We will be going on the tour tonight despite being covid positive. Terrible business practice, We will never ever book with Ghosy City tours in any city ever again

I'm being spooked out by the hat man not appearing in my photo WHOOAAAAAAA

All bad reviews are made by malevolent spirits and should be viewed as such. I had an absolute blast of a first date under Meredith's guidance. She's smart, witty, and peppers in super quick jokes that blew my mind more and more the later into drinking we got Hey GCT give Meredith a raise! A big one!

Went on the death and deprecation tour. The description does not at all match the tour. You walk throughout the streets of charleston don't go into any museums or houses. Just walked on sidewalk..Tour guide -Dawson was also a little rude, if you like Dry humor this guy is definitely for you but if not don't recommend. Also he left us at a diffent location then where we started and when we asked where we were in reference to a car he just said Charleston. If that provides any sense of his interesting humor. We did see a ghost though attaching picture for reference

We enjoyed the tour ONLY because of our tour guide LANCE. We learned a few interesting things which also made it enjoyable. I'd say the price was a little high for what we actually did though. I tipped lance a 20 for being a great guy and continuing the tour even though he got sick halfway through it.

Did this with friends on our first night in Charleston. What a treat. Oliver was knowledgeable, funny and respectful of other tours. He gave us so much information we couldn't remember it all the next day. Send an email and he answered all our questions!!! The walk is easy but be prepared it's dark (duh) and some of the roads are old cobblestone so watch your step. Thanks again to Oliver for a fantastic tour.

Not scary. Mostly a history tour. Why didn't it stay and end at the same location? Expensive for what you get plus tip.

We did the depravity tour with Lance and he was fantastic. Good ghost stories well told, and he was very funny.

Is it a sign that I've hit peak middle age when attending a guided walking tour is the highlight of…read morea vacation? Was the rest of our trip so underwhelming that our excursion with Lowcountry Walking Tours exceeded all other expectations? Perhaps we just lucked out with the optimal factors to catapult our urban trek to a noteworthy high. I can't point my finger at any particular indicator that the rest of our Charleston trip was subpar, so I'm concluding that our tour was truly outstanding. First off, the late-January weather was flawless; it was perfect for spending a few sun-drenched mid-morning hours strolling around Charleston's French Quarter. Second, Captain Jim kept us entertained with enchanting history lessons, snappy quips, and fascinating details we would have undoubtedly overlooked as unwitting tourists. Finally, we'd opted for the Hidden Alleyways and Passages tour and it did exactly what it says on the tin. We wandered down tucked-away paths that I never would have thought were accessible to the public (let alone take me anywhere desirable). If you're visiting Charleston and looking for an affordable way to learn about the city and obtain a deeper appreciation for its rich history, I unhesitatingly recommend Lowcountry Walking Tours.

Wonderful and knowledgeable tour guide! The tour was interesting and informative! Highly recommend!read more
