So this review is based on the pastry and chocolate almond meringue alone!…read more Almond meringues must be a Girona thing or a Catalan thing because their everywhere! Most places have the almonds crushed up and mixed into the meringues . There are tons of bakeries all over Girona offering yummy treats... But this was the only place I've seen so far (in my two days) where the huge meringues are dipped in chocolate and have a layer of whole almonds inside the meringue ! DELICIOUS! Literal I could eat nothing but these till we leave! They are so amazing ! The dark chocolate they are dipped in is fantastic too! My husband got the Xuxo pastry (pronounced :shoeshow) another local traditional pastry: a flaky pastry filled with a cinnamon custard!
