I have been sending my children to this place for a while now. They had a really nice stylist named Cici(CeeCee); literally the only reason we continued to go there. As of lately she hasn't been there. We found out she no longer works there. Since then the price continues to go up, every time with a different excuse. In addition plan to spend your whole day there! They do not respect people's time, especially not the children. The owner was so hung up on charging me an extra $30 saying that her employee misquoted $120 and she changed the price to $150. Welp they have lost some loyal clients! It was my first time here. Lord was on our side with the amount of time I had not been to the salon but Cee Cee is a miracle worker! She not only has a singing voice that helped my tender head feel calm throughout the process she was extremely informative, loving, understanding and respectful of how to work with my head. I let her know I had a sensitive head and she did gave my head nothing but love. The vibration in this salon was a warm welcome to NJ not too mention a guaranteed returning client. All the staff was beyond attentive and exceptionally friendly. Supreme and Sheryl were both saints that brought a warm welcoming all together. I love that Cee Cee didn't just take her time to make sure I was leaving the salon with a clean and beautifully done set of locs but also with a strong embrace that I will never forget. I actually went to Get Twisted to get a Wash n Go but Sasha (my stylist) explained that it would be more practical to get a longer lasting hair style so I go two strand twists instead. I feel her establishment def deserves 5 stars because she is very professional and knows what she is doing when it comes to natural hair and I really liked the outcome because she made sure to elongate my twists part them evenly and neatly, and that it was moisturized (which is great since I have a severe problem with dryness) And on the other note she is very friendly and my appointment immediately started when I got there (even though I was 45 mins late...) and during the middle of getting my hair done she offered me a bagel and peppermint tea free of charge. I got my hair braided and loved it. I asked for two cornrows with extension which I brought my own braiding hair. The lady that braided my hair was really nice and I definitely would had gone back but unfortunately the receptionist over charged me. I'm absolutely disgusted by the total disregard of people's time at this salon. I've made two different appointments on two different occasions and neither was honored. So long story, I called ahead of time asked if they could dye and sew in my bundles. They said yes, and gave me a price of 250, it was expensive but I pay for the quality. Which I thought would be good, no games and straight forward. I went to her because of the good reviews I read...but I get there and the color I asked for was a apple red so she gets to dying my hair but didn't bleach it or picked a high resolution. So my roots are red and the ends are red/black. (Something I could've done with a L'Oréal dye box at home) anyway she tells me it'll blend with my red bundles, she didn't want to damage my hair. And I respect that because I have tight curls. Anyway I just put my trust in her because she's the salonist and we go to the chair...this lady...after washing my hair (SOAKED) takes the blower with an attachable comb to the head and starts COMBING ROOT DOWN WHILE BLOW DRYING. I CAN HEAR MY HAIR RIPPING AND FALLING...I was confused because she clearly had rollers and a hairdryer that I would've preferred to go under. I told her take it easy but I figured she did this normally? She did say sorry then went more gentle with the WIDE comb blow dry thing!! I have no clue who told her that was effective but hair salons should use a round brush if they want to blow dry from very wet. After having my hair ripped out, I told her I want a 360 leave out and a middle Part. She braids all around and the middle then she braids up the rest & places the net. Simple. It got really tight with the installation of hair around my temples, I told her, "hey it's too tight here" and she was like ok and helped loosen it which I liked. When it was done....my hair didn't blend. The 360 leave out was so I could pick up my hair to a high pony tail and she barely left any hair out. The hair looked thin and I know that was my fault but I wish she told me I needed another bundle for fuller hair. It was just a horrible hair experience and I still paid the full and tipped. They are beautiful people and have a beautiful salon. Atmosphere and all was great, I think that's why I let her "practice" on my head and didn't say much at the end. Same night after I left, I stopped at Walgreens, bleached and dyed my leave out by myself so it can blend correctly and right now I'm trying to wait out the pain from having this sew in too tight around my edges ...I got this done two days ago and regret it so much. Word of advice, if you aren't experienced or don't normally do sew ins please let your new customers know. It isn't fair :/ read more

I can't remember the name of the girl who did my hair (I think it's Nicolette) but she was very patient with me, considering I have so much hair. Here's my experience... I called ahead of time and asked if they could accommodate me. I told them I only had a certain amount of time to get a simple style. The woman on the phone told me if I come now she could get me in and out. I arrive and there's one person now starting small box braids and two other customers sitting down. I waited 30 minutes and I still wasn't being helped. I asked the stylist and she kept saying the lady will be here soon she's right up th e street. Then insists that I need a deep conditioner she globs it on my head and throws me under the dryer. 1 hr later..... I get up to ask the stylist the update on the stylist I've waited an hr and a half for and she rudely goes outside to eat. After waiting 30 minutes for her to come back in I request to leave. I had a wonderful Massage by Sasha the other day and I would highly recommend her!!!

My daughter & I have gotten our hair done a few times here before. Sheryl always did our hair and we were happy with the results. This time I told Sheryl my daughter's Prom was coming up and asked her to do my daughter hair for her big day. She advised she only works in the NJ location on Sunday's but her daughter Sasha would do her weave. Little did I know her daughter did not know how to do a lace front /360 weave. It was terrible, she didn't even have any glue to secure it. I later contacted Sheryl to talk about the occurrence & she did ask to fit it, so we went back the next week for her to do it over properly. Little did I know she over booked her schedule that day and took every other client first doing a weave that came in after us. Long story short it took 8 hours total to complete because she made us wait until she finished all the other customers first. She did a good job doing it over in the end but the fact she made us wait 8 hours was totally rude & disrespectful. A business owner should never treat their customer & their time like that because they have to fix a problem they allowed to happen in the first place. She knew her daughter wasn't well versed in this type of weave yet she said nothing & allowed my daughter to be her daughter's guinea pig on her BIG DAY ! It's sad because I was loving the vibe & really looking for a salon to call home. Lesson learned. read more
